The voyager is sailing through the cosmos, with only one goal in mind: to find his home. He has nothing to go off of, of course. It's not like a universal compass exists... 

After a day or two (it's hard to tell when you have no sun to base your time off of), the voyager finds a small planet. When he lands on it, something about it is very familiar. After walking around on the surface for some time, he finally figures it out. This planet is strikingly similar to his planet's own moon, just with a red tint. 

Eventually, he comes to the conclusion that he isn't accomplishing anything by walking around on this planet, so he leaves -- but not before leaving behind one of the small tracker probes that the ship carries.

Probe

The voyager opens his eyes... and panics. He and his ship are rapidly approaching a large asteroid field. 

He tries as fast as he can to get back onto his ship by pulling on the tether and using the momentum from it to drift back into the airlock. Just as he does so, he grazes a small asteroid that was just about to hit him. 

He quickly closes the airlock and disconnects his tether as he feels a strong impact shake the ship. As fast as he can, he gets out of the airlock, throws himself to the controls, disables the auto-pilot, and tries his best to steer his ship to avoid the asteroids. 

He feels other smaller impacts, and just now notices the alert systems going off, showing the voyager all of the various places the ship has been hit. He can't believe that even in his adrenaline-spiked state, he didn't notice this before. 

He tries his best to maneuver the ship away from danger, frequently being hit with asteroid after asteroid before finally escaping.

Voyager

Time (feat. Straplocked & Icarus)

As he watches the ship get smaller and smaller as he drifts further and further away, he allows himself to succumb to the feelings he's had throughout his journey. 

How cruel is the universe to put him in such a situation? He started out on a voyage where he had no idea where he was even going in the first place. He wanted to go home, but has no idea what or where his home even is. No one knows he's alive, and no one will know when he's dead. His eternal fate is to drift along the cosmos... forever. 

This is it. 

As he increases the nitrogen in his suit, he closes his eyes and imagines for the last time what he dreams his home is like. 

He hears waves crashing. The warmth of a nearby sun. Sand underneath him. For the first time, he feels at peace. He relaxes his body and gives himself to the mercy of the universe. 

There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only now, forever.

Thunder Porpoise: @thunder-porpoise

Voyager (feat. Thunder Porpoise)

The voyager doesn't have time to take a breath, as he is bombarded with all of the ship's alerts and warnings as a result of the impacts. He quickly grabs the on-board tools and replacement parts and tethers himself again to attempt to fix these issues from outside the ship. As he does so, he feels a lot of excess heat coming from the hull of the ship. 

After a couple hours of patching and replacing parts of the ship, he feels that he has done enough for now. When he tries opening the airlock, however, he sees that the door is red-hot and has been partially melted, likely due to the excess heat he had felt earlier. He begins to worry when he looks through the window on the airlock's outside door to see the inside door on the other side has suffered the same fate. 

Before he can think, the airlock explodes and sends the voyager flying. He can't see anything due to how fast he is spinning, and begins to get tangled in his own tether. Before long, the tether extends to its fullest length and stops the voyager long enough for him to see that he and his ship are spinning uncontrollably. 

After he untangles himself from the tether, he starts to notice it getting weak due to the constant strain from the centripetal force exerted on it. The voyager pulls on the tether to bring himself back to the ship, but just as he's about to reach the airlock, the tether snaps and sends him flying off into the unknown...

Wake Up, Time To Die

After visiting countless other planets, the voyager decides to try to have a little fun in this bleak situation he's in. After activating a sort of auto-pilot on the ship, he goes inside the only airlock, grabbing one of the available tethers and hooking himself up. Opening the outside of the airlock, the voyager steps out of his ship, spreads his arms, and jumps... 

He's never felt this feeling before. This overwhelming sense of smallness and insignificance. As he drifts next to his ship, his breath is taken by the sheer grandness of the universe around him. When it comes to something as mysterious and complex and simple as the universe, nothing makes sense. Yet, everything makes sense. 

There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only now, forever.

Adrift 445 (Interlude)

The voyager finds himself nearing another planet. This one is much different than the first, being that it's much bigger and has an atmosphere. When he lands on this planet, he find that he is in the middle of the world's permanent planet-wide blizzard. He exits his ship, excited to experience the wonders of this place. 

The voyager walks around for a while, in awe of the magnitude of such a storm. He smiles and spins around where he is standing. He doesn't remember the last time he felt such joy... 

Before leaving his winder wonderland, the voyager activates another tracker probe on this planet. When entering the planetary data needed for the probe to function, he decided to name this planet "Frost 1".

When wandering aimlessly in such an expansive universe, one can only try to be optimistic for so long. Feelings of isolation and hopelessness start to creep in. For the first time, the voyager starts to think about the possibility of never going back home. 

He quickly rids himself of such thoughts, but these feelings remain...

Home

The voyager wakes up out of breath. Once he gathers his senses, he gets up and realizes he's in a small room with gadgets and dials all over the walls. He sees a window. 

He slowly walks toward it and sees something he couldn't believe. Beautiful, gargantuan clouds of gas and billions upon billions of stars. The voyager suddenly realizes that he has woken up on a ship in the middle of space. 

Some time later, he has figured out three very important things. First, he is alone on this ship for some reason. Second, he is far away from home, wherever that may be. And third, he knows how to fly the ship, as his muscle memory reminds him. 

At a time like this, you must cling onto the only thing left that's familiar, and for the voyager, that's his home. It's all he remembers; the warmth, the familiarity. He must find his way back. 

And so his journey begins...
