Whist at the time of writing, the format of this years Amsterdam Dance Event is still being decided, one thing is certain, the music and spirt of the festival is stronger than ever!
 
ADE connects a global electronic music community which is reflected this in our 2021 sampler, bringing together homegrown Dutch talent alongside artists from Europe, South America, and The Middle East.
 
The full melodic spectrum is represented, from deep progressive beats and emotional vocals to the tougher kicks and astral synths found at the darker end of melodic techno. 
 
7 new artists join the sequence family as part of the sampler, and we welcome back Zieze for his second outing on the label.

Making a welcome return to ICONYC Noir are Iranian duo High on Mars, this time around in collaboration with ATA.MOTA, to bring us their latest smash 'Retrorocket'. High on Mars who need no further introduction return for their second outing on the label this year. For 'Retrorocket' they teamed up fellow Iranian producer ATA.MOTA to bring it together for an extraordinary release that shows a startling amount of potential.

To start us off High on Mars & ATA.MOTA drop their original of 'Retrorocket'. A track full of rhythmic notions and expansive synth stabs that create a driving rhythm before the atmospheric pads create a beautiful setting, which fires with all guns blazing to produce a club monster that growls. Combining the best of both worlds, the trio has come up with something unique and distinctive to make this release extra special while applying an extra dose of groove and warmth to this incredible tune. 'Retrorocket' stands for a fool proof and state-of-the-art piece of music, which will readily make you, take note and amaze in equal measures.

On remix duty we welcome Hungarian Andrewboy to the label for his debut. Andrewboy who knows a thing or two when it comes to mind blowing productions, turns his remix into an irresistible track using the original elements with perfection. He layers more melodies and effects, whilst upping the flow with cleverly programmed percussion as he uses his trademark FX elements to create a well-rounded sound sphere, without destroying the essence of the original. His rework deserves to be branded 'essential' in any sense of the word.

High on Mars & ATA.MOTA's 'Retrorocket' is an accomplished piece of work that highlights, that they are true masters of their craft. Massive stuff that is not to be missed!

Making their label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Nuwa' are Voices of valley. Formed in 2017 by Greek artists Valantis Likostratis and George Triantafyllakis, Voices of valley have achieved measurable success in relatively short order. Their dark, ethereal take on techno has won over the genre's tastemakers and landed them releases on BeatFreak Recordings, KATERMUKKE, Steyoyoke, Three Hands and Us and Them Records. Continuing what has been a prolific year, Voices of valley now make their Astral Records debut with a powerful take on 'Nuwa'. Combining pulsating rhythms with tough beats, crisp percussion and astral stabs makes for a sleek yet electric first act. Metallic arps roll forward, as layers of percussion push momentum into the main break. Grandiose and dramatic in equal measure, buzzing bass swells and cinematic pads highlight the centrepiece, paving the way for a clever transition into an effects laden drop and thunderous final act. A great complement to the original which caps off an excellent Astral Records debut for both AquAdro and Voices of valley.
