Dank herrlich quietschigen Acid-Schleifen und auf Hochtouren laufender Rhythmus-Maschinerie fühlt sich PoP deutlich schneller und intensiver an, als es der BPM-Wert des Titels erahnen ließe. Mila Stern schiebt für ihre Interpretation des Tracks den Schubregler ein bisschen weiter nach oben und zaubert ein lückenlos ineinandergreifendes System der groovebasierten Ekstase. Das aus dunklen Tiefen herauf brodelnde, sich zu immer neuen Filter-Modulationen aufbäumende Weiter kommt in nächtlich-vertripptem Zuschnitt daher. Im rockig-elektroiden Remix von Andy's Echo geht es auf anderem Wege in genau solche Stimmungsgefilde.
Judith van Waterkant and Mere present their first own EP. Driven by a rhythm machinery that is firing on all four cylinders and packed with screeching Acid riffs, PoP feels distinctly faster and more intense than the BPM reading of the title implies. Mila Stern pushes down on the accelerator and propels her remix into a tight system of groove- based ecstasy. The nocturnal track Weiter is dark and deep, looms up through a series of bold filter modulations, creating a heady, tripped-out atmosphere. So does the remix from Andy's Echo, even though this rocky, electroid take on the original moves on a different path to reach that point
of a party.

The human blink is controlled by the subconscious. The reflexive closing movement of the eyelids clean and protect the eyes. When we blink, the visual centre in the brain is regulated. Therefore, we do not consciously perceive this whole process and the briefly reduced incidence of light. On average, this procedure is conducted 10-15 times per minute. In moments of great excitement, joy or concentration, we can blink significantly less often. Due to the excessive focus, the blinking becomes a consciously controlled process for a certain amount time. Pulli & Chomba are undoubtedly experts of Downtempo music. Their sound style is powerful, driving and melodic at the same time. They seem predestined to remix a master of his craft like Joe Carl. While staying true to the original, they add their own touch to this interpretation of „Days Are Gone“. The result is a harmonious mix that is a pleasure to listen to. This whole EP is loaded with a distinctive flavour, something we have been missing in the scene lately. Expressing an absolute and characteristic focus on energetic progression around each original composition. 

LOKD009 is also welcoming our friends from @kermesselive with their remix of “Matilde”, which transforms the original into their own spectrum of what could be defined as truly organic sound. The second remix is by our very own @arutani, who takes a step back on suggesting a deeper and melodic approach in his re-interpretation for the track “Quentin”. 

We are proud to welcome Grégori into our little family, and to release the very first EP in his downtempo career.
