⫷ 𝕋𝕣𝕒𝕟𝕤𝕚𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕤 ⫸ Transient orcas are travelers, cosmic passengers on Earth. 
∞ Nomads of the seas. They are wild and free. Nomads of the seas. They are wild and free. Their bodies are so fierce and powerful, crossing the oceans, with absolutely no one to fear. My mind dream of them with full admiration.

We, humans, are also transient on this planet. We all know that yet we are not fully aware of it. Death is an abstract concept, sinequanone of life.
It’s until one of the closest persons you know, the person you can actually thank for being alive. One of your parents. A mother. A Father. In my case. My father. My forever loved transient. The one I dedicate this musical journey to.

It’s been 9 months since the first set I recorded. At first, I wanted to upload one set every month. Well, life has taken me on a more humble path and showed me I needed more time to mature, learn, try, fail, process before I could upload another set. When my father passed away in October, I wanted to honor him and give him some sort of tribute through a musical journey. My first intention was to go across the various emotions we feel during grief such as anger, sadness but also acceptance and peace. I selected my tracks, worked on shaping a journey through the corners of sadness, melancholy that sometimes transforms into a full relieving and grounding anger that suddenly fluffs away in sparkles of joy, the feeling of acceptance and peace taking over.

I had the whole set planned up. But I got confronted with my lack of technical knowledge… My transitions were bad, or at least not very smooth. I tried again. Failed. Again…  At some point, I got not really discouraged but tired of playing with the same tracks, like i was working on my own live set! I lost contact with my first intention, and my emotions themselves. I was stuck into a frame, a mindset with a number of tracks I had decided to play with but transitions were still not working after so many trials.

I decided to forget about recording and this set for a while. And I started practicing just for fun, with no purpose, intention or, whatsoever to feel totally free to have fun playing without pressuring myself with « This set is going to go online, it has to be super good if not perfect. »
And I did. And this experience was so liberating! I smiled, I danced, I played intuitively tracks that I felt were matching, sometimes without even listening to them, I wanted to fully trust myself for my choices. And I surprised myself so much sometimes! I was like: "Wouwouuu that worked so well!" All my transitions were fluid and I was very happy :-)

Two weeks ago, I decided it was time I give a try again, this time recording, and to finally deliver this set I started to do on the 22nd of November! But again, transitions were not smooth enough....

࿐ After Kamiwaza, I came back home with a few friends from Amsterdam and they pushed me to play. I was shy and a bit scared but they encouraged me and I felt safe. So here I am, starting to play, this time stepping out of the structure I had planned, integrating new tracks, playing intuitively, and most of it, not alone, but in front of friends who were dancing and from whom I could feel the support! And this was absolute magic! I’m really grateful for being so loving and supportive. 

I also want to thank my friend @Vander for his Dj Masterclass that I have been following (check out Curious Artist Club) and also my other Dj friends who gave me tips along the way (@lucid-paris, @matildoutz-paris, @temple-tears, @anda_luz, @airka-paris…) and of course my Dad, for everything... ♡

Our No. 222 today comes from an artist who has been accompanying me musically more or less continuously for about 2 years. To overhear him is basically pretty really hard. Not only because of his high output and commitment, but especially because of the high quality that can be found in all his mixes. So is the case with ours.

We are talking about kośa who also runs the well-known label Kosa which preferably stands for experimental downtempo that can be classified somewhere between world music and slow deep house. As a solo artist Tarun is very successful on the road. Among other things, he has played at the well-known Berlin club Kater Blau several times.

His recorded mix begins like an ode to the Bronx of the 80s when hip hop played with oriental music elements. As the tape progresses, it becomes deeper and more driving, without losing its slow character. In the process, he reveals a wide range of subgenres...Towards the end, Tarun returns to the starting point, skillfully closing the circle. In his set, he provides equal amounts of release and tension. A perfect formula for an easy-going, danceable afterhour. Fasten your seatbelts...

Unsere Nr. 222 kommt heute von einem Künstler, der mich seit ungefähr 2 Jahren mehr oder weniger ununterbrochen musikalisch begleitet. Ihn zu überhören ist im Grund ziemlich wirklich schwer. Nicht nur auf Grund seines hohen Outputs und Engagement, sondern vor allem wegen der hohen Qualität, die sich in all seinen Mixen wiederfindet. So auch bei unserem. 

Die Rede ist von kośa der zudem das bekannte Label Kosa betreibt welches vorzugsweise für experimentellen Downtempo steht, der sich irgendwo zwischen Worldmusic und slowen Deep House einordnen lässt. Als Solokünstler ist Tarun überaus erfolgreich unterwegs. So bespielete er unter anderem den bekannten Berliner Club Kater Blau bereits mehrere Male.

Sein eingespielter Mix beginnt wie eine Ode an die Bronx der 80er als der Hip Hop mit orientalischen Musikelementen spielte. Im weiteren Verlauf wird das Tape immer deeper und treibender, ohne seinen slowen Charakter zur verlieren. Dabei offenbart er eine große Bandbreite von Untergenren…Gegen Ende kehrt Tarun wieder zum  Ausgangspunkt zurück und schließt somit gekonnt den Kreis. In seinem Set sorgt er gleichermaßen für Ent- und Anspannung. Eine perfekte Formel für eine locker-flockige, tanzbare Afterhour. Schnallt euch an…

 Sebastian has been sharing and mixing his tunes through the world since he got his first MK2 back in Paris in 2003. Discovering nightlife at Le Palace in the late 90s and soon collecting vinyl's from Parisian stores like Katapult, Techno Import or Kitsuné, the original inspiration came from the Detroit Scene through Garnier's Rex residencies and the terrific Kill the DJ parties at le Pulp.
He has been behind the decks throughout the US, Europe, Latin America and currently resides in New York City. Sharing the stage with names like Birds of Minds, Unders, Mandrake & Dramian (Mayan Warrior), Carlita, Maga, Bonjour Ben, Djuma Soundsystem, Patrik Khach,  and Holmar his experience engaging the crowd and technical expertise are praised by the industry. As both a DJ and Music Director at Amaya Mezcal Club in New York, he is well-equipped to take his audience on a unified journey of a downtempo, melodic house with deep and dark transporting sounds..

June's full moon is brought to you by German talent Landhouse. Influenced by the techno party scene during the naughty Nineties, he started deejaying in early 2000.  Hosting a small Party row in Erdbeermund Karlsruhe called Wohnstubendisko since 2008, Landhouse started producing in 2014. 

His compositions are deep and touching, very powerful tools to unfold profound emotions and able to take you from dreamy atmospheres to the tenebrous side of music. 

We are proud to announce that this mix contains some inedited songs from his new 8 track Album LIFE, to release here on Pachamama mid July 2018. Watch this space and enjoy this podcast in the meantime!

In einer Stunde um die ganze Welt.

Tief ins uns schlummert eine Sehnsucht. Ein Funke der mit Tätigkeit befeuert werden will. Die Rede ist von Fernweh, der Lust am Reisen. Meist wird dieser Wunsch durch ein Erlebnis in unbekannter Umgebung oder durch die Monotonie des Alltags geweckt. Wie auch immer das Verlangen aktiviert wird, nun ist es da und will befriedigt werden. 
Dann heißt es Koffer packen, das wichtige wird vom trivialen getrennt und sorgfältig verstaut. Ab ins Flugzeug, Auto oder den Zug und auf in ein Abenteuer fernab der Heimat. Es gilt neue Orte zu entdecken, andere Menschen zu beschnuppern und ferne Kulturen zu erleben. 
Nach dem man seine Erfahrungen gesammelt hat, kehrt man mit neuem Blick in seine vertraute Welt  zurück. Gewöhnliches gewinnt wieder an Bedeutung, unwichtiges wird abgelegt und das traute Heim erstrahlt in frischem Glanz. Zu den Erinnerungen bleibt dieses kribbeln in Fuß und Bauch. Und ob du willst oder nicht, es wird wieder nach dir rufen. Du schnappst dir erneut deine Habseligkeiten, bereißt das nächste Ziel, solange bis du alles gesehen hast. Dann beginnt das Spiel von vorn, weil die Welt sich dreht.
