Satellite is the 4th album from Graham Richardson's Last Days. Richardson who is now well known for his cinematic electro-acoustic pieces that effortlessly invoke an almost inconceivably tangible imagery has this time around turned ever inward for Satellite's core inspiration. While Richardson credits the album with certain personal themes in tow he's more apt to let the listener gather their own meaning of the album's affinity of satellite and stars. The song New Transmission features vocals by Beth Arzy (Aberdeen, Trembling Blue Stars) and could very well sum up the album's apex while delivering the most pop affected Last Days song to date. James Maloney studied music at Oxford University and after graduating in 2011, found his own voice in minimalist composition and songwriting, which led him to the sounds and style present on Gaslight. The album is a vibrant piece of work that is built around an old piano, accompanied by a trumpet, vibraphone, glockenspiel, and subtle electronics. This is a music defined by spacious atmospheres, vibrant tones, and comforting chords, a bold soundworld crafted by Maloney on his debut record that make it a triumphant and original foray into minimalist territories. Maloney adeptly weaves a broad range of styles and influences into his compositions: gentle nods to cinematic orchestrations meet hints of post-rock sonorities, with infusions of mellow jazz and modern classical germs.

This is the fourth and final track from my new album Notes On Belonging coming out on 27th October 2017! This track is the place where I find space and meaning in the form of repetition of three notes. It explores the notion of belonging to a place, physically and spiritually, and a sense of journeying to a place called home. It's both tinged with joy and a sense of longing, of nearly being there but not quite yet. The track explores a sort of counterpoint, where instruments go in and out of phase to emphasise this nearness of things. They delicately tow the line of independent improvisation to colliding in pattern, most noticeable at the end of the track. I wanted to explore themes of indiviuality and freedom in the piece with the hope that inevitably we'd join forces at times. Serein is a record label based in Wales, the UK. Since our beginnings as a net-label in 2005 we have featured artists from across the world on numerous recordings released digitally and on CD and vinyl. While focussing predominantly on crossover ambient styles, we try not to limit ourselves to any one genre. Listening to our music is the best way to get to know us!

Our music is frequently used in TV and film productions, regularly receives international radio airplay and has been featured in several highly regarded printed publications and online magazines. The name Serein was taken from a meteorological dictionary, it is used to describe 'fine rain falling from a clear sky after sunset'. We pronounce it seh-rain, you can say it however you want.
