It's a syllable or phrase that embodies a sacred or divine meaning. By repeating a Mantra, a rhythm is created that aligns mind and spirit, enabling one to protect oneself or focus on a desired goal. You can choose a Mantra based on what you need in life.

Mahamrityunjaya Mantra - महामृत्युंजय मंत्र
is one among the oldest and most important Mantra’s in Indian mythology and spirituality. This Mantra belongs to Lord Shiva. It is a combination of three Hindi language words i.e. Their meaning is: great (‘Maha’), death (‘Mrityun’) and victory (‘Jaya’), which turns into conquer or victory over death. It is said to be a moksha Mantra, beneficial for mental, emotional and physical health. It bestows longevity and immortality.

The true meaning is as follows:
Tryambakam: The three eyed lord (Shiva) who sees what we can see but who also sees what we can not see. Hence 3 eyed.

Yajamahe: Yajanam is invocation; I invoke.

Sugandhim Pushti Vardhanama: Increase my good vasanas (not of material aspects like gold, money, sex, anger, the 6 enemies etc.)

Urvarukam iva bandhanaan mrityor mukshiyam amritaat: (my soul is) like a cucumber bound (to the body, please free me from the captivity of death and give me immortality. 

The yogic scriptures often compare Mantra to a boat or a bridge  that an aspirant can take to cross the mire of delusion created by  the external world and reach the center of consciousness within.

This is my favoritest piece.

Bach wrote this as part of the 3 third Violin Partita BWV 1006.  

The version I play has some added counter melodies known as 1006a.  This version is most commonly played on guitar.  

I believe this piece reflects perfectly the creation of the universe.  Both the big bang theory and the biblical account.  It starts on a low E.  Then Bach arpeggiates the E chord.  Then we get E scales.  Then crazier scales.  Soon we moves to keys further away from E.  I believe each piece by Bach is itself a tiny universe.  Most of Bach's Fugues are as complex as our own universe.  I suppose all pieces of music are tiny worlds, but none resemble our own as much as Bach's music in my opinion.
