Rain Song

Of all the hymns I grew up hearing and singing in church, this is the one that has always been my true favorite.   When I was first learning to record songs in a tiny home studio about 20 years ago, one way I practiced was by recording gospel hymns.   Last week I shared "In the Sweet By and By" and today I thought I might share another one.    Gillian Welch recorded this (I think with Emmylou Harris and Alison Kruas) for the film, "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou" later on and I was so tickled by that.  This is an updated version, I altered the lyrics a bit.  This was post 9-11-01 and I was pretty depressed with the state of the world at the time.
