Soupherb Records brings you another stunning release from Label head Ash Roy. As an individual producer and a DJ, Ash's style moves through genres that range from minimal to tech-house to techno. Other than homegrown label Soupherb, Ash Roy's music has been released on various other prestigious labels such as Trapez Ltd., Tulipa Recordings, Creepy Finger, Sensum, Monocline and most recently on Monique Musique.

Clean Slate is a deep, dark and groovy track with a growling melody. Pure dancefloor bliss !! Cobalt is also dark and groovy with a crazy acid melody, another floor burner ! On remix duties we would like to welcome into the Soupherb Family, two producers that we love and hold in the highest regard. Big round of applause for Elmar Strathe and Maksim Dark who bring their signature sounds to their mixes.

Oliver Huntemann - Schwarzlicht & Filmriss
Direct yet sophisticated, brutal yet refined, physical yet cerebral: opposites collide to perfection on this latest transmission from one of Hamburg's finest exports and a bona fide techno legend - Oliver Huntemann. Here, he returns to his very own Senso imprint with two massive tracks aimed firmly at the floor.
The airy feel of 'Schwarzlicht' with its simple kick-less beat and intricate, textured woodblocks gives way to an imposing, thorax-rattling low end that's felt as much as heard. Precision-engineered for a big system, the pitch-bent bass twists around itself like a contortionist in chains, while above, brittle piercing stabs pulse and ping.
On the flipside, the slamming kick and buzzing repetitions of 'Filmriss' cast a dark, edgy vibe. A pitched-up pulse - as if a string is being slowly tightened to breaking point - makes way for a monstrous sub bass. Deeply accomplished, these tracks are ample testimony to Huntemann's two-decade stint at techno's cutting edge.

DJs, producers, label owners and veterans in the Indian electronic scene - Ash Roy and Ashvin Mani Sharma (a.k.a. Calm Chor) come together as Bit Of Both for mix #099.

There aren’t a lot of Indian acts that have been making and promoting electronic music for as long as Bit Of Both. Ashvin Mani Sharma and Ash Roy started off as founding members of hugely prolific Jalebee Cartel, which at the time also includede G "Force" Arjun (of Else If) and techno maestro Arjun Vagale.

2013 saw the launch of their imprint – Soupherb Records (here’s an old interview we conducted with Roy about it last year), a rapidly growing label that features upcoming producers in electronic music, mainly concentrated on techno, house and minimal.

Bit Of Both is a live collaborative electronic project that they launched last year. Their aesthetic is apparent in the mix they sent us – the music features minimal, repetitive grooves with gentle overlying melody and vocals (by Roy). The act’s first music video for ‘Time’ featuring Anushka Manchanda was released earlier this year (watch it here).

Wild City’s truly international mix #099 features music by the likes of German whiz Recondite, Brazillian producer and Kompakt signee Gui Boratto, Italian minimal techno musician Donato Dozzy and of course, homegrown talent and one half of bit Of Both – Calm Chor, whose tune ‘Everything is Sound’ closes the set. This is a great early evening mix to get your party juices flowing.
