Soma welcome Techno behemoth Monoloc for his label debut with two dark, brooding Techno tracks in his inimitable style with the ‘Gipson EP’. Monoloc was born in 1980 in Frankfurt am Main. He first got in touch with the booming electronic music scene of this Techno metropolis at the age of 16 and soon bought his first set of records. Since then, his life has revolved around his ultimate goal; manifestation of his musical vision in the form of dj sets as well as his very own productions.

Title track Gipson kicks off with deep, pumping subs and kicks with a slowing evolving atmosphere creating great tension through the body of the track. Monoloc subtly pulls back the throttle only to launch back it with bold, crashing percussion. Most definitely one for the more moody dance floor.

On the flip, Cupel starts off a little lighter but defiantly delivers a punch. Muted kicks and atmosphere provide the backdrop while delayed synths trip out over the top. Monoloc picks up the pace ever so slightly as skipping hi hats given the track more urgency before ethereal pads glisten through the heart.

Un autunno freddo (Luca Scarpa per Millesuoni in Clausura 22.11.24)

Era un autunno freddo sulle rive del fiume Kamo. La casa del maestro Chikashi era ricoperta di foglie gialle e arancioni. Se ne stava seduto a gambe incrociate a guardare l’orizzonte, fermo e immobile come il tempo che sembrava non passare mai.

Il vento tagliava la pelle, attraversava i pensieri come una lama tagliente e profonda. C’era ancora tanta strada da fare. Il maestro camminava a passo sostenuto nel bosco, districandosi tra rovi e arbusti. Si faceva largo nell’oscurità della notte.

Animali selvatici lo accompagnavano nel suo viaggio. Una presenza invisibile ma costante. Non si sentiva minacciato ma protetto. Come angeli al suo fianco lo guidavano silenziosamente.

Il tragitto era ancora lungo. Sempre più oscuro, ma sempre più vicino alla meta finale. Qualche spiraglio di luce rossa si poteva intravedere, ma forse era solo nei suoi pensieri. Un viaggio ipnotico nella notte, nella profondità della foresta, con l’unica certezza che quella era la giusta via.

Ad un tratto si aprì un varco, un piccolo spiraglio come un portale inaspettato. La certezza era soltanto una: solo se attraversi il buio puoi vedere la luce.
Un enorme prato, una distesa di verde intenso sotto i suoi piedi e davanti al suo sguardo. La luce ormai era filtrata da ogni spiraglio e solo in quel momento il maestro capì di essere arrivato a destinazione.

Spazio. Navicella 37T22. Il viaggio era appena iniziato. Verso nuovi mondi. Verso l’infinito.
