Big tunes call for big remixes: Catz 'n Dogz return to last year's massive collaborations with Madrid-based queer artist Megane Mercury with two premiership remixers: Riva Starr and Truncate.

Each artist taking the subversive sentiments and playful provocations of 'Toma' into their own hands, the remixes all flip new perspectives and grooves into the originals while retaining their original mischievous spirit.

Riva Starr takes on 'Toma'. Ploughing us down with his signature concrete beats, Riva takes Megane's voice to whole new levels, highlighting the tones and delivery as a rhythmic device that worms into your head for days and days.

Last but definitely not least, Truncate turns 'Toma' inside out with a turbo-charged techno twist. Unrelenting, peaktime slammage; Truncate reminds us of the spirit of true timeless techno that's ridiculously good fun to mix and even more fun to get lost inside on the dancefloor.

Juan Atkins' Infiniti project combines raw tactility and puristic elegance with Skynet, where slinking grooves mask chaotic frequencies and roughly-hewn structure.

Alongside fellow Detroit legend Terrence Dixon who appears on several tracks, Atkins exposes the life and emotion in machines, outputting a biomorphic atmosphere of industrial soul.

The ongoing importance of this album is indisputable, essential both to techno and to Tresor.

"No Reason to Lie" is the lead track of the EP, characterized by an aggressive but groovy percussion.

"I Can't Stop Looking at You"- is the most playful track. It has a friendly bass line which stands out. The movement is given by vocals, making the track ideal for every dance floor. 

"Am" - Brian shows his introspective side by this track in which the sounds are composed by long pads that point out the down lift, a powerful bass line alongside a vocal that marks the rhythm of the track.

The seventh volume of Drumcode’s annual A-Sides compilation hits with no less than 10 debuts for the label, with Charlotte de Witte, ANNA, B.Traits and Scuba’s SCB project, among the collection of topline artists to release their maiden productions on the imprint. 

Over two decades into its lifespan, Drumcode keeps evolving and excelling, pushing techno forward while remaining wholly respectful of its roots. This reputation for progression was further fueled this summer with its inaugural festival at the NDSM Docklands in Amsterdam, featuring a long list of heavyweights including Nicole Moudaber, Joseph Capriati, Amelie Lens and Ida Engberg, among others. 

As ever, the A-Sides compilation provides a timely opportunity to showcase the full range of its sonic repertoire, with Adam Beyer scrupulously selecting 22 unreleased tracks that have taken prime position in his sets over recent months. 

Outstanding all-round talent ANNA kicks off the compilation with ‘Portable Paradise’, a pulsating cut that sets the tone for the top-shelf club cuts to follow. Also entering the debut field with their first ever Drumcode dalliances are B.Traits and Charlotte de Witte. The esteemed Canadian selector offers up ‘I Feel The Music’, a euphonic track that’s been sought after since spring, and the Belgian ballista unlocks a thick-edged club bomb in ‘Remember.’

Leaders of Drumcode’s new brigade, exciting Brazilian Wehbba and British techno alchemist Boxia set out to impress. Wehbba’s straight-talking ‘Just’ hits with an immediate sense of urgency before neck-snap claps strike with force, and Boxia’s ‘Final Call’ elicits physical engagement with mellifluous vocals and soaring pads. 

Continuously looking to bolster the profiles of emerging talent, Berlin-based producers Weska and Juliet Fox are brought into the fold with equally engaging razor-sharp tracks that are primed to do lasting damage. 

Other notable highlights include an exhilarating workout from Reset Robot - the most released artist on Beyer’s imprint Truesoul – as he lands on Drumcode for the first time. And tastemaker’s favourite Jel Ford makes a welcome return as he ushers in techno rhythms with bustling breaks in ‘Nightshade.’

Elsewhere, support from label mainstays comes in from Bart Skils, who offers a work of consummate skill in ‘West Of The Moon.’ Alan Fitzpatrick, who’s been heavily featured across the A-Side series, joins forces with Scuba as he operates as his uncompromising alias SCB. The result is a propulsive floor-gripper that testifies to their masterful deftness as co-producers. Formidable duos Dense & Pika and Pig&Dan also contribute with powerful compositions.

Pig&Dan return to their label with a stunning 3-track EP of thunderous warehouse delights.

Since inception in 2012, Elevate has been the foundation of everything Pig&Dan do. 'We are at a good point as artists, and I think it's time to try to push a new sound.' Dan told DJ Mag US one-time, fast forward 8 years and their world looks much different. Pig&Dan have captivated the scene with their chunky, sonically pleasing sound, fulfilling their long-held belief in consistency and making the label and themselves utterly indispensable.

Opening the landmark 150th release on the label with title track 'Existence' we are quickly into full flow with huge warehouse kicks and an eerie bass drone complimenting the crunchy percussion. Melodics take over and add tension into the first drop. By then, it's game over and the ride takes you along regardless. 'Back To Graceland' takes it one step further. Industrial drums juxtapose the angelic pads and metronomic stabs and thunder in the dark, reminding us of nightclub dreams of times before.

Finally, 'Super Trip' ties up the trio with a rhythmic, percussive roller that creeps into the edges of your mind. Hypnotic melodies lead the way overpowering the senses and becoming oddly claustrophobic and warming instantaneously.
