Nikitch & Kuna Maze cue up a deadly dancefloor banger for the much-loved Brighton imprint, Tru Thoughts. 

France-via-Brussels duo Nikitch & Kuna Maze aka Nicolas Morant & Edouard Gilbert mark a strong return to form announcing new album ‘Back & Forth’. Building on the signature sounds the duo developed on their first full-length LP ‘Debuts’ – that was praised by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Tom Ravenscroft (BBC 6Music) and Music Is My Sanctuary – ‘Back & Forth’ is a deeper and more radically aesthetic approach to its predecessor. 

Lead-single “La Di F…Da” accentuates the duo’s flirtation with house music, delivering a road-tested crowd-pleaser that playful meshes dub sirens and Nervous Records-esque vocal stabs with elements of Brazilian samba and protean brit-funk energy. A reference to a Mark Wahlberg quote from the iconic Martin Scorsese film The Departed, “La Di F..Da” evolved from an in-joke on tour to a dance floor-filler at shows.

Label founder Mark Knight returns with his most anticipated release yet for 2022 and this time it's a truly special occasion as Mark enlists Dance Music royalty Armand Van Helden for their debut collaboration, 'The Music Began To Play'.

An artist who needs no introduction, Grammy nominated Armand Van Helden is one of dance music's most revered figures, with a career spanning 30 years and a vast discography which includes hits such as 90's classic 'You Don't Know Me' to his seminal hit 'My My My'. His productions and sound have certainly transcended the confines of Dance Music, influencing mainstream popular culture. With a list of collaborations spanning Dizzy Rascal to Steve Aoki, not forgetting one half of Duck Sauce with turntable wizard A-Trak, Armand Van Helden has a reputation as one of House Music's finest producers.

On a roll already this year, Mark Knight has firmly cemented both himself and Toolroom back into the club with a string of collaborations in 2022, from 'You Are A God' with James Hurr and Cari Golden to 'What I Need' with RETNA, Mark seeks to continue this trend with 'The Music Began To Play'. Kicking off with a hard-hitting, thumping House groove and electrified bass line that drives the record hard, pushing the mix to the absolute limit. Before dropping into the track's golden moment, sampling the 1979 classic Disco cut 'I Don't Need No Music' by T.J.M, a gem of a record and one that encapsulates both Mark and Armand's love for classic cuts. Together, 'The Music Began To Play' is an instant classic in the making, masterful work from two of House Music's finest showing us how it's done.

David Moleon is back on Italian record label Unrilis with a jackin' hardgroove techno release that combines raw percussion and analogue synths.

It's the second time that David Moleon has featured on Unrilis, and he once again showcases the same upbeat and percussive style he has made a trademark. Many know David Moleon as a veteran of the Spanish techno scene where he is famed for his three deck DJ sets. He has also produced tracks for respected record labels ranging from Planet Rhythm to his own Moop Up.

This release comes as part of the Rilis series that was originally founded in the late '90s to focus on music by Unrilis co-founder and legendary techno DJ, Rino Cerrone. The series was originally an outlet for Rino Cerrone's experimental tracks, but was relaunched in 2022 to showcase music by artists who share his same ethos and style.

Rino Cerrone retired from the music industry at the peak of his career over a decade ago, and recently passed away, making the Rilis series a memorial to him and his legacy.

Since its inception in 2002, SWAY has been recognised as one of the key labels in funky techno, and rightly so. Following the relaunch of SWAY two years ago, the reactions were immediate. The tracks have been played all over the world, from the underground parties to the biggest festivals, including a memorable closing track on the main stage set at Tomorrowland.
