Acronym (@4cr0nym)delivers his latest EP ‘Millennial Lowlife’ via Benthic this July, comprised of four originals from the Swedish artist. 

Across the past decade, Dan Vicente aka Acronym has been unveiling his twist on murky, hypnotic Techno via the likes of Semantica Records, Northern Electronics, and of course, his own Stilla Ton imprint, showcasing a more esoteric and experimental approach to the genre and steadily rising to prominence as a driving force for the Swedish Techno scene. Here we see him joining the roster of Benthic following its inaugural release back in September 2021 from Lucid Void. 

Title-track ‘Millennial Lowlife’ opens up the project and perfectly sets the tone with subtly unfurling atmospherics, gnarly bass stabs, and modulating synths atop a low-slung, driving rhythm. ‘Albanova’ then tips the focus over to an ambient tip, merging metallic arpeggio chimes with pulsating dub swells and tension-building textures. 

‘Vertical Garden’ opens the flip side and leans towards a more electro-tinged aesthetic courtesy of squelchy acid bleeps, crunchy drums, and ethereal pads before ‘Flashing LED’ rounds out the release, once again returning to an ambient feel with cinematic strings, meandering sub-bass tones, and shuffled percussion throughout.

Artificial Owl Recordings welcomes artist Takeo Watanabe on board with his album titled Piece of My Scape. This release is available in limited edition black 12" vinyl.

Takeo is a music and visual artist that has been active in bands since entering high school where he played bass with live activities at local live houses.
He won prizes at local music festivals and appeared on radio programs.
At the age of 21, he moved to Tokyo with his band members and started band activities in Tokyo.
He exhibited at numerous group exhibitions and received the Niigata Nippo Art Promotion Award at the Niigata Prefecture Exhibition.
He also received the Encouragement Award at the Kamo City Exhibition.

In 2021, he started outdoor ambient activities, disseminating outdoor machine live videos on SNS, etc., becoming a pioneer of outdoor ambient artist.
His work was featured and broadcast on a local TV program.
He is active in a wide range of activities, including numerous live shpws and radio appearances, participation in compilation albums on Japanese and overseas labels, and publications in American magazines and has thousands of views on his famous Youtube Channel that shpwcase his live performances and jams in the outside of the Japanese nature.

Takeo Watanabe's YouTube channel serve s as a vibrant platform for his creative expression. The channel features a range of content that highlights his musical prowess, including original songs, cover performances, and behind-the-scenes footage of his creative process. Watanabe's engaging personality, combined with his dedication to producing high-quality content, has helped him cultivate a loyal following.
