With clean vocal chops, a crisp and snappy groove, "Somerville" is able to capture a special vibe, that feels organic & poppy. A characterful and rough bassline blasts through the energetic percussions and takes over the lead, while short vocal snippets tame the low end and bring a beautiful balance, which creates this soothing affair. With texture and a wonderful craft by Timo, the track captures a vibe, that is both danceable and suited for countless listens at home. 

We always try to capture a certain balance with our releases and "Somerville" might have just created a perfect reference for us.

An exciting new face rising swiftly through the ranks, GIGÉE joins the mobilee roster with ‘Lullaby’. The fierce four-tracker, including remixes from AFFKT and Ivan Masa, drops Friday June 5th.

With a fruitful career working behind the scenes in electronic music, Polish-born Paris-based GIGÉE finally steps into the spotlight herself. She wowed with her skill and production on debut EP ‘Reborn Pulse’ (Katermukke) in October 2019. Supported by the likes of Charlotte de Witte whilst still charting high on Beatport, the release achieved both tastemaker and mainstream success.

Leading the live wire’s mobilee debut, the title track kicks off with unexpected neo-classical flavours; breathy elements merge together into a transportive soundscape as a true electronic journey unfolds. A fresh take on techno, make no mistake – GIGÉE is making her mark. AFFKT heads in a darker direction with his driving rework. The understated acid bassline takes the listener to the darkened dancefloors that we are currently missing.

‘Last Journey To Valhalla’ is a deep and dreamlike amble. Melodic, otherworldly, echoing the majestic mythological Valhalla itself. Ivan Masa makes the quest even more thrilling, bringing his own underground energy through warping synths and cinematic sounds.

GIGEE’s first foray with the esteemed Berlin label resonates with their genre-challenging ethos; forward thinking in their makeup - but pure mobilee in their far-reaching sound.

The Gardens of Babylon is set to release the second VA compilation ‘The Monastery’ in celebration of its eponymous yearly festival experience on 17 July 2020. For this edition, the Amsterdam-based, yet globe-trotting spiritual clubbing experience welcomes contributions from Amine K, Gorje Hewek, Maga, Madmotormiquel, Noraj Cue & unders, Parallells, VANDER, and more across its 17 tracks.

After the 2019 launch of The Gardens of Babylon’s record label we find ourselves in a very different world. Last year’s compilation was a musical snapshot of a physical festival experience with contributions coming from those who were there. This year, the compilation assumes a different role – a sonic journey through the times, memories, and loved ones we miss, as well as a sense of comfort as we look to reunite on a dancefloor somewhere around the world.

‘The Monastery’ 2020 draws contributions from friends and family, developing its narrative from the opening percussion of Menachem 26’s ‘Kumkapi Blues’ through the closing euphoria of Glauco di Mambro’s ‘Solar Safari’. Along the way, each track reads as a different chapter, transporting listeners to the sea of smiles that make up The Monastery Festival Experience. These chapters break down the weekend, encapsulating the emotions of its many facets, locations, and feelings. With ‘Light On The Road,’ Ali Farahani sets palpable anticipation, leading into the jazzy breaks of Gorje Hewek’s ‘Der Geist Seiner Zeit’. Then, Maga’s delicately brooding ‘Muzike’ (feat. Arc) makes way for the gently rising piano of Parallell’s ‘Everybody Knows’. By the time, Derun’s ‘Los Caminos de Sirkedji’ hits, things start getting twisty, day turns to night, and ‘The Monastery’ is in full swing. From here, Amine K, Niko Schwind, Noraj Cue & unders, Dauw, Madmotormiquel, and Headwaters expand consciousness through mythical, hypnotic offerings – some low slung, some deep, dark, and driving. This is where resident VANDER’s ‘Can’t Get No Sleep’ drops and sums up the experience perfectly, interjecting fresh funk into groovy percussion, before giving way to afterhours vibes courtesy of KRAUT, Franca, and Sound Shapes.

It may be another year until the hallowed grounds of Goch’s Kloster Graefenthal turn into our musical paradise again, but with ‘The Monastery’ 2020 compilation, its starry nights and lovely days transport through speakers and souls as we patiently wait for the world we know to return stronger, healthier, and more conscious than ever before.

The two of them seem to work fantastically when it comes to collaborating and making good music together. We have been watching them on stage for a long time as individual performers named Chris Domingo and Mariner, but starting from the previous edition, signed for Balkan Connection, Mariner + Domingo have formalized their cooperation and we are very pleased to be one of the publishing labels that signed their work.

Label boss Madloch returns to 3rd Avenue with a new single entitled ‘Flow State’. With the majority of the Belgian artist’s output being reserved for parent label Sound Avenue, it’s a rare occurrence for Madloch to land on it’s more progressive minded counterpart. May of 2019 did however yield the two track ‘Grindstone’ EP, which found the Belgian artist focusing on the groovier, more esoteric side of the genre. Now making an unexpected return Madloch presents a new single alongside remixes from Subandrio and Beije.

This record took a while to be finished but we're glad to finally release this beautiful EP from Matthew. The title track ‚Heimreise‘ has already been around a few years ago but never got to be released officially due to the vocal sample. After speaking to Matthew he sent us the track and we used it in our Cercle set last year which gave the track a second life and lots of people were asking for an official release. After lengthy negotiations the sample could be cleared and licensed and we finally finished the EP. We worked on a remix for ‚Heimreise' what turned out to be quite a challenge but after all we could wrap it up right before deadline and the whole record was ultimately done and set to release.

These two originals need no big introduction or explanation. ‚Heimreise' and 'Random Dub Fix' are wonderful displays of Matthews Dekay’s ability to create such hypnotic grooves that almost put you in a state of meditation. We still have so much fun playing these out that we really think this is a timeless piece of music. Thank you all for the patience, we’re happy that ‚Heimreise' found its forever home with Siamese.
