It's the EP closer. A culmination of feelings through the year/life that can be overwhelming but eventually feeling fine and necessary for moving forward in life. Soundwise, this is my best Tom Petty impression with some Wilco in there too. Soft and rhythmic acoustic with some big choruses and growing vocal melodies and more guitar.

Lyrics for this song evolved into a sort of dream catcher anthem. I was thinking and writing lyrics for the album and the words for this song came about in the middle of the process and I realized how much hope plays a big part. The idea that many people can hear what you say in your mind through music is not to be taken for granted. I wanted to be truthful and thought that taking a ride on the ferry to downtown Manhattan is a great analogy for trying to make it, not just in music but in life. From the hopes we have along the way and the trips we take to the places we want to be at to where all these paths cross and intertwine. It’s all just as much a part of the whole as the destination. A journey has to start somewhere and it’s always downtown.

The track is sort of a dialogue with yourself where your ego can get the best of you. Sound-wise, it's reminiscent of an end of summer feeling that you don't want to let go of. The solo towards the end is a bit Dinosaur Jr. meets Smashing Pumpkins.

Downtown

This song is about self-reflection and change. We dwell on the past and hopefully learn from it. However, sometimes we disguise ourselves so much that we don't even remember who we were.

Wrote this song during the lockdown(s) of 2020 and it evolved into a an anthem of sorts for me when I think of how distant we all were. Soundwise, it is ypretty unique but with some clear influences. Just not enough of any ONE to pin point it. Jangly acoustic chords with some rocking melody licks.

Kids in the Hall

Kind of an ode to 90's grunge/sludge rock with modern indie vibes. The track is the only really loud track on the EP but still goes well with the rest, especially as the opener.

After years spent perfecting his craft as a guitarist for some of the most notable acts to come out of Staten Island’s rich and diverse local music scene (Paul & The Tall Trees, Eamon) as well as becoming a fixture at various acoustic showcases, singer/songwriter Sergio Napoletano has found his stride... and his bandmates. With an enormous support group of musicians/friends including AJ Pantaleo, drummer of The Jazztronauts (and who can also be heard on records with Baked and Bueno), the band succeeds in not just playing songs but creating the atmosphere in which they dwell. Adding to the sonic landscape on past recordings is Will Schalda on piano/keys (Billy Swivs) and Paul Schalda on guitar and backup vocals, bringing instant chemistry from previous projects together (Paul & The Tall Trees). 

As a live act, the band can go from light and airy to gritty and tight, sometimes trading in their sweet polished sound for a more clunky indie-rock vibe which often demonstrates the real strength of their music: concise, well-written songs and undeniable musical chemistry… in the tradition of the great American songwriters... with the universal appeal of straight rock and roll.

His new EP, 'Memory Aisle', is a collection of songs conceived and developed over the last few years while working from home and finding new ways to record and layer ideas. The songs reflect on the past and look forward to a future of new paths and formative experiences.
