After a five-year hiatus, Hospital Records is extremely proud to present the return of their beloved mixtape series, curated by rising star and top-tier selector, Lens. With previous editions compiled by S.P.Y, Fred V & Grafix and Etherwood, and with a nod back to the iconic artist-led Hospital Mix series put together by London Elektricity, Logistics, Danny Byrd, Nu:Tone and Cyantific, Lens is swiftly on her way to joining the ranks of D&B royalty. Get locked and loaded for a sub-thumping, 17-track selection of new and exclusive cuts from Camo & Krooked, Fade Black, Watch The Ride & Emz, Logistics, Subwave, TC, Whiney, Winslow, Lally & Lens plus heaps more.

The ‘Lens Mixtape’ will be available on limited edition cassette tapes as well as on all major streaming platforms, which will include a continuous DJ mix of compilation cuts together with some fresh Hospital Records heat.

Dance music kingpins Watch The Ride consisting of DJ Randall, DJ Die and Dismantle supply a crisp cut bouncer of an instrumental straight out the gate for Bristol based mic controller Emz to shell down. Legendary doesn’t quite cut it - this one will be rolling through raves left, right and centre.

Lens’ debut release ‘Love The Way’ is an exciting jungle fused collaboration with rising producer Lally whose already dropped impressive releases with the likes of Hospital, Soulvent and Archway. Expect soul-infused samples, raw breakbeats and a shredding bassline.

Other compilation highlights include the widely anticipated Fade Black remix of Camo & Krooked’s anthem ‘Loa’, alongside a brand new bubbler from Whiney & Slay, a fresh feel-good dancefloor destroyer from Logistics, as well as cold killer cuts from SL8R, Joja, Euphonique & Redders, Nectax & Parly B, and lots more…

Tearing up clubs, festivals and airwaves worldwide, Lens is in huge demand, relentlessly unleashing her untestable armoury of tunes at a long list of legendary shows including Sun & Bass, Audioriver, Fabric and Drumsheds. For stay-at-home listeners, Lens also hosts the monthly Hospital Records Rinse FM show. Appearing on her very own Hospital Mixtape compilation is just the start of an extremely busy 2022. Compilations don't get much bigger than this; across two high energy mixes we’ve brought in sterling submissions from our ever-growing roster of talent, strong highlights from the last twelve months and most importantly shiny diamond cuts to look out for in 2017. Find 20 brand new tracks from key players such as S.P.Y, Logistics and Anile, and an exclusive Metrik and Fred V & Grafix collaboration. They took time out of their busy DJing schedules to join forces on ‘Tension', encapsulating their love for euphoric dancefloor smashers.

From 'V Classic' to 'Planet V' and beyond, the V Recordings camp have been scene leaders in creating era-defining, zeitgeist-capturing compilations. And, following on from the retrospective 'Foundation' project, it's now time for another chapter in the story - 'Future'

Bryan Gee, widely known as one of the most influential selectors and A&R men in the business, has taken his time to compile and curate something that's more than just another album. This is Bryan's personal vision of what's to come, not only for the V brand, but for Drum & Bass music as a whole.
Never swayed by fashions, fads and sub-genre divisions, Bryan and Jumpin Jack Frost's family of labels have been a benchmark for quality from time immemorial. So, when they call this album 'Future', that comes with authority.

For V Recordings, the future is as much about building on what's come before as it is about brand new innovations. So, we see contemporary masters like Benny L, Voltage and L-Side pay homage to the classics with remixes of Roni Size, Ray Keith, Krust and Dillinja. Artificial Intelligence go back in on their anthem 'Uprising' to give it a cutting-edge reconfiguration, and Dr Meaker's 'Fighter' gets the S.P.Y treatment.

Then there are the 2020 visions of artists from across the spectrum of Drum & Bass music. The likes of Alibi, Paul T & Edward Oberon, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, DJ Marky & Dirtbag, Bladerunner, Zero T, Command Strange, Carlito & Addiction, Jonny L & Need for Mirrors deliver darkness and light, savagery and euphoria, musicality and hype in equal measure. And that's just scratching the surface.

The future that this album sets out before us is one where pigeon-holes and categories are unimportant. Certified legends rub shoulders with breakthrough artists. Heavyweight dancefloor bangers co-exist with soulfully melodic flavours. This music is unified, not by style or by marketability, but purely by the vibe. If that's what a V Recordings future looks like, we can relax. The scene is in safe hands.
