While SOL's signature material is rather song structured / radio orientated, ESSAYS displays a different, more experimental and 100% dancefloor oriented dimension of the group. Volume 1 is a shamanic silver bullet for all DJs who praise dream-like house music, electronic synthesized melodic beats & grooves and some Ibiza Sunshine.

Le groupe est formé en 1981 par Beate Bartel (Mania D, Einstürzende Neubauten) et Chrislo Haas (Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft) ainsi que la chanteuse Krishna Goineau. Dans le cadre de la scène Neue Deutsche Welle (Nouvelle Vague allemande) ils ont été les pionniers de l'electronic body music.

Après avoir enregistré quatre cassettes de dix minutes, ils ont sorti leur seul album en 1981. L'album Liaisons Dangereuses a été mixé au studio Conny Plank à Cologne. L'album contient le single Los Niños del Parque (en français: Les enfants du parc), qui est devenu un succès underground et a été cité comme influence cruciale par des DJ de la techno de Détroit, et de la Chicago house.

Le groupe fait plusieurs apparitions en direct tout au long des années 1981 et 1982, et ils sont parfois rejoints par Anita Lane (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) et Hideto Sasaki. L'album est réédité en 2003. Chrislo Haas est mort à Berlin en octobre 2004.

The group was formed in 1981 by Beate Bartel (Mania D, Einstürzende Neubauten) and Chrislo Haas (Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft) as well as the singer Krishna Goineau. As part of the Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave) scene they were the pioneers of electronic body music.

After recording four ten-minute cassettes, they released their only album in 1981. The album Liaisons Dangereuses was mixed at the Conny Plank studio in Cologne. The album contains the single Los Niños del Parque (in French: Les enfants du parc), which has become an underground success and has been cited as a crucial influence by DJs from Detroit techno, and the Chicago house.

The band made several live appearances throughout 1981 and 1982, and they were sometimes joined by Anita Lane (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) and Hideto Sasaki. The album was re-released in 2003. Chrislo Haas died in Berlin in October 2004.

Watergate favourites GHEIST make their long-awaited label debut.

There’s an auspicious connection between GHEIST and Watergate; the Berlin four-piece played their very first live show at the club in 2017. Since this time, not only have they become tried and true favourites at the Oberbaumbrücke hotspot, but they’ve caught the ears of electronic music fans the world over, establishing themselves as one of the most promising new acts on the scene.

After stellar releases on Last Night On Earth, Diynamic and their own Radau Records, ‘Zukunft’ is a fitting debut, shining with the GHEIST’s trademark juxtaposition of melancholic and euphoric tones. The title arouses an immediate nostalgia courtesy of its shimmering combination of organ stabs, scattered vocal effects and smooth bass. ‘Disclose Yours’ will make the hairs on your arms stand up with its major key synth riff and stirring vocal. Completing the package is a slick dub, primed for the early hours.
