Following on from a hectic summer touring across the globe, NY producer Joeski returns to the studio to create his next release, due on Crosstown Rebels in 2018.

The EP unfolds with the original version of I Want You - a fierce, driving beat is juxtaposed alongside the sensual and smouldering vocal as the bassline rumbles on. Pure 4am, fist pumping pleasure. The flip side introduces the disco mix of the title track. But don’t let the ‘disco’ lull you into a false sense of security. The track is fuelled by intense industrial sounding smashes and an abundance of layers that creep ever closer.

A founding member of NYC’s The Chocolate Factory DJ Collective, Joeski has been a staple in the underground scene in New York since 1991, holding down a residency at the city’s famed nightclub- Roxy. He’s played alongside the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Louis Vega and Roger Sanchez. His career has seen him release on Electrik Soul, Siesta, Chez and Camouflage as well as launching his own imprint Maya Records in 2001. This year, the prolific producer has juggled a jam-packed touring schedule taking in Australia, New Zealand, South America and Europe, as well as Ibiza for Do Not Sleep and Misfits.

Hotly Tipped Swiss-based Kosovan born DJ/Producer Sabb returns with a brand-new label and debut album ‘Radiant’. The album and label launch mark’s the 10-year anniversary of his career, with ‘Turning Point’ the first track to be previewed from the forthcoming album. 

Real name Sabri Kastrati, Sabb has been winning over crowds with his hot and heady dancefloor sound that merges deep and tech house with earth-shattering grooves. From calling labels like Moon Harbour, Circus Recordings, Saved Records and Noir Music home to fueling the world’s most iconic clubbing spaces, Sabb has fast become one of electronic music’s most respected figures.  

Benefiting from the creative autonomy that comes with starting a label, ‘Radiant’ offers a dynamic mix of colourful and unrestrained club music; immersive, nuanced and transformative. 

The label will focus on releasing innovative electronic music for more than just the dance floor, while also doubling up as a new event series that to date has already welcomed the likes of Nick Curly and Cuartero, among much more talent scheduled for 2018.

The last two years have proven to be an exciting sign of things to come: Sabb was backed by BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Pete Tong, featured in Mixmag’s top 100 tunes of 2015, was one of the highest charted artists on Resident Advisor, played everywhere from Space Miami to Blue Marlin in Dubai, and held down a residency at Pacha Ibiza. 

Certain to light up dancefloors, “Turning Point” is abound with oriental textures underpinned by fervent, hypnotic drum programming, providing a titillating glimpse of forthcoming album ‘Radiant’ set to drop on the 6th April.

Coming in fresh for the summer season with their third outing on Hive Audio is the Swiss duo named Sous Sol with a follow up to their massive „Taonga EP“. Bringing forth two new original tracks and a remix by Romanian electronic music staple Mihai Popoviciu, their new release the „Dizzy Rhythm EP“, fully lives up the pairings high quality standards and is soon to be heard on a dancefloor near you.

Opening with the title track „Dizzy Rhythm“ Sous Sol are employing a deep, tribalistic vibe for a start,  fusing intricate, complex percussion lines with a seductive TechHouse groove and masterly crafted synth arrangements bringing forth a well balanced amount of mystique and drive ideal for intimate late settings as well as epic moments throughout large scale sunrise sessions.

On a remix tip for „Dizzy Rhythm“ is no-one less than Mihai Popoviciu. The Romanian Techno legend who's left a trail of releases on high quality labels like International Deejay Gigolo, Poker Flat Recordings, Bedrock Records and many more over the years turns towards a more dancefloor focused  approach in his rework, strips things down a little, adds quite a distinct, stoic hi-hat whilst staying true to a certain, dreamlike and well trance inducing feel for an ultimate lift-off.

Finally „Hazy Vision“ sees Sous Sol on a well funky tip, once again bringing forth masterly crafted percussion vibes alongside a classic uplifting pad motif harking back to a mid-90s House vibe accompanied by large scale build-ups and the duos trademark mysticism, all falling into place to channel dancefloor energies towards a huge, and surely inevitable, climax.

This is the first time @bastigrub and @davide-squillace have ever collaborated together, but both have previously worked with many other artists including the likes of Guti, Timo Maas, Eric Volta, Butch and Matthias Tanzmann. The tracks on this EP also feature the vocals of Julian Smith.

“Play Thing” opens the EP with a sleazy vocal intermingled with the melodic groove of a pulsating synth line. Building momentum, the introduction of epic chords creates a contrast of brooding atmosphere and uplifting melody. Tribal style percussion adds to the uniqueness of this eccentric cut of dance floor focused house music.

“Let's Go Deep” brings the funk with its bassline and cheeky melody sound. Hypnotic with just the right amount of grit, there is an exquisite blend of percussive textures at play, but it’s the vocal which really gives the track its personality. Quirky and brimming with personality, it’s got a seductive style that brings intimacy to a peak time style that blurs the line between a mixture of sub genres.
