How 'A Leap Of Faith' Helped Quinten 909 To Release His Spooky Remix...

What does the dutch DJ Quinten 909 have in common with Dusty Springfield and Percy Sledge? They all made their own version of ‘Spooky’, a song which originally was performed by Classics IV. This track reached #3 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.  
 
But that was in 1968. Nowadays people want to hear a different sound. And that’s what Quinten 909 brings to the table with his deephouse-remix of Dusty Springfield’s version. “I jammed that out one afternoon and it has been the biggest hitter on my Soundcloud ever since”, the Dutchman says. 
 
“When Ministry Of Sound played it in their annual Halloween podcast I decided to take a leap of faith and got in touch with Universal Music, who own the rights for Dusty Springfield. I was a bit afraid they’d tell me to take it down, but they loved it and gave me the rights to release it!”

The song remained a minor hit in Europe but two years after the release date the record eventually made it all the way to #1 in the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart.

In the year 2015 it´s about time that ´Is It Love´ is rebooted and brought back with some true Australian summer heat. By mobilizing Late Nite Tuff Guy, D Ramirez, GT & Wildfire and Avon Stringer for the remixes we can ensure you that we have some of ´Aussie´s finest on the case.

Australia´s ´Godfather of Techno´ Late Nite Tuff Guy maximizes the amount of disco in his remix. Flavoring the track with disco percussion and subtle synths, reaching the perfect amount of groove. D. Ramirez sourced Is It Love to a more destructive remix, putting together both well-founded beats, a strong bassline and a sophisticated usage of the vocal. GT & Wildfire worked some serious piano magic and by flipping the vocal in a surprising way it brought the track to a whole new – modern – level. Last but not least Avon Stringer brings the heat to ‘Is It Love’, he made the vocal truly majestic and by fusing magic synths and by bringing a strong melodic bassline he really made Is It Love´s reboot to one full worthy release.

Not so long ago we took BLANC’s first house weapon ‘Temptation’ to our friends over at Main Course and offered them an exclusive premiere. The track rapidly received a lot of positive feedback and 20.000 plays, so we can definitely say that it is still going strong on Soundcloud. Now our main man BLANC90 has something else lined up and we can say with great pleasure that he is back at it with a brand new tech-house hefty called ‘Wanna Do’.

We would like to keep things short here: Wanna Do is a sketchy tech-house track with dingy vocal samples that results in a true tech gargantuan with a dark game plan, to top it off it is – of course – constructed with a typical BLANC90 finesse.
