Lesson in Learning

Born In Vancouver Washington 1984. Sertifyde (C. Dougie Wyman) Grew up listening to a variety of genres of rock, classic rock, country, and pop music. It was at the age of 13 when his love for Hip Hop, R&B and Rap really blossomed. Listening to artists such as Warren G, Tupac, Bone Thugs 'N' Harmony, Dr. Dre, Too $hort, and various other artists, Sertifyde began to draw into the Hip Hop culture. Growing up without a strong male role model and being a product of the welfare and low-income suburbs of Vancouver, the need to express himself was evident. 

It wasn't until the age of 17 that Sertifyde first started writing rhymes and raps. Having had a pretty articulate vocabulary and excelling in writing and certain English classes, he would attempt to mimic the lyrical styles of rappers such as T.I. and Ludacris. Influenced by his roots in his Christian faith, when Sertifyde began recording songs he wavered between secular and religious lyrical content. 

Having not recorded any new content in nearly a decade, Sertifyde is currently searching for his outlet to be back in the studio and writing more Christ centered lyrics and will be releasing new songs as soon as he is financially secured and finds a solid production engineer and producer.
