Flight In The Failing Knot

'Sertulariae' is the plural scientific name for a genus of hydroid microorganisms that lives in the sea. I draw my inspiration from prints of sea invertebrates the evolutionary biologist Ernst Haeckel painted. In these prints the lines between biology and geometry/mathematics is blurred because the organisms resemble geometric abstractions. This remains a mystic and beautiful revelation for me. 
'Sertulariae' also stands for my consciousness which I hope to evolve up from the depths of the sea metaphorically to express higher organisms through my compositions.
