Heute reise ich mit euch mal wieder in den Süden der Republik. Zu Gast sind wir bei Sebastian aka MIR. in München. MIR wurde mir von meiner lieben Freundin Karin besser bekannt als Frau Hofmann wärmsten empfohlen … mit den Worten „Uwe der hat es voll drauf“. Beim reinhören in seine Sets auf SC musste ich dann auch direkt feststellen … Karin hat wie immer definitiv recht.

Sebastian treibt sich schon über  10 Jahren hinter den DJ-Pulten im Süden herum. 2004 war er Mitbegründer des Künstlerkollektivs SunsetRecordings, das im Augsburger Nachtleben mit ihren SunsetMoment Partys und Bookings wie Sascha Brämer für Aufsehen sorgte. Jetzt ist er in München heimisch geworden. Der „Sonntagsgefühl“-Resident weiß nur zu gut, wie er mit tanzwütigem Publikum umzugehen hat: Seit etwa drei Jahren bespielt er das Open-Air in München und begeistert dort regelmäßig die über 1500 Besucher. Nebenher spielt er noch das ein oder andere Date im Harry Klein, Kong, MMA, Bullit Club, der Tante Erna mit seinen tanz.t.raum Freunden oder kommt in seine alte Heimat und trifft sich auf den einen oder anderen Track im Kesselhaus oder der Mahagonibar mit seinen Kollegen. Außerdem war er mit seiner Klein&Laut Crew maßgeblich am Korfu Odyssee Festival 2019 beteiligt … das ein ziemlicher Traum gewesen sein muss.

Musikalisch hat mich MIR. sogleich mit seiner grandiosen Präzision in seinen Sets überzeugt. Jedes Set ist wohl überlegt und mit einem ganz fantastischen Stimmungsbogen garniert. Wie kein anderer schafft er es den Sound immer weiter und weiter aufzubauen ohne dabei langweilig zu werden … ein hohe Kunst wie ich finde.

Für dieses Set hat sich MIR. in die langsameren Gefilde begeben und eine Set von 95 bis ca. 115 bpm gebastelt. Eine schöne Mischung aus älteren und neueren Tracks zu einer wunderbaren Geschichte verwebt. Lieber Sebastian tausend Dank für diese wunderbare Reise und ich hoffe wir treffen uns bald mal persönlich auf ein Bierchen. Und meine lieben Hörern hier nun etwas SPACE vom tollen MIR.

Jamie 3:26 (@jamie3too6) has been a pivotal part of the Chicago scene for decades. Hailing from the South Side, he has been immersed in the city’s musical culture since day one, and not long after started to help shape it with his own expressive DJ sets and edits. Many of them made it into A Taste of Chicago on BBE, a compilation he put together of his own early takes on Windy City mainstays like Chip E, Jungle Wonz and Braxton Holmes back in March. Over the years, he has held various residencies in the city and soon went on to break out onto the international circuit, where he continually represents his hometown sound with real authority.

Opening up with what sounds like a snippet from a pastor’s sermon, there is plenty of real life spirituality in this mix from the off. The ensuing two hours are a real lesson in groove and emotion, a panoply of house, funk, soul and disco that is loose limbed and expressive but also masterfully sequenced so as to tell a real story. It is a wonderfully widescreen representation of a city from someone who knows it as well as anyone, and one that will have you cutting loose and shifting shapes in no time.
