<p>Label boss Boris delivers some serious groove-age in the &#8220;Warp&#8221; EP, which storms through the door, courtesy of the title track, and clearly sets the stomping tone. Besides the slamming rhythm section, an industrial vibe runs strong throughout the whole number and warped riffs in the background add to the hypnotic atmosphere. <br />
 Christian Smith&#8217;s interpretation funks things up with old-school hats and subtle, retro sensibilities. Electronic strings add to the epicness and lead directly to the apocalyptic breakdown, which also utilizes the characteristic bell stab of the original.<br />
 On &#8220;My Friend&#8221; we get a bit more mysterious with vocal snippets robotically chanting the title and the bass zipping away hypnotically. Alberto Ruiz picks things up with his more upbeat rendition, however, he shifts the focus on distressed effects and synthetic warfare, which blend effortlessly in to the sublime dubbiness.</p>

Marc Houle is back with his latest full-length album entitled “Cola Party” on his own Items & Things imprint.

The album contains 9 tracks, with the main singles being “Cola Party” and “I Don’t Wanna Know About You”. “Cola Party”, the lead track of the album, sets the scene with Houle’s textbook pitched down vocals weaving through tightly programmed drum patterns and heavy low frequencies. “I Don’t Wanna Know About You” is a late-night jam whose pulsating lead synth and effortlessly catchy main vocal hook make it one of the more upbeat tracks of the album. Both tracks will be released two weeks and one week before the album’s release respectively on iTunes.

“Cola Party” comes as a long-awaited follow up to Houle’s well-received 2012 LP “Undercover”. As an album, it contains all the elements fans and followers have grown to love with every Marc Houle release; his signature take on techno and jacking minimalistic-funk shines through from start to finish. If anything, the album is a clear example that Houle is still at the top of his game after more than 10 years in the business.

As a bonus for digital DJs and Traktor users worldwide, the album will be part of the Native Instruments' Traktor Remix Set series in July. The stems of 7 of the tracks from the album will be on this Remix Set release, following on from an array of other well-known artists who have done the same since the Remix Set series’ inception in Autumn 2012.

“Cola Party” is Houle’s sixth studio album and comes just in time for summer, with the release date set for 27th June.
