This track was completed in participation of the 22nd Disquiet Junto, focusing on sonic decay.  For this piece, I utilized a melodica & microcassette recorder.  I recorded tone clusters onto microcassette, then played them back at half-speed.  Heavy saturation & tape compression are apparent, seemingly accentuated by a slower playback speed.  As the microcassette recorder is only capable of mono, the tape recordings were digitized as such, & additional melodica tone clusters were recorded in mono in the digital domain.  The mesh of harsh / murky / saturated tones from the tape & cleaner / more pristine tones from the digital recording make for an interesting pastiche of textures.  No digital processing was implemented aside from pitch shifting & volume adjustments.
