Following on from her critically acclaimed album ‘SoMe’ comes a trio of remixes that represent the different shades of Anja Schneider’s new Sous Music imprint. 

Butch is a long-time friend and respected colleague of Anja’s and championed ‘All I See’ from early on, begging her for a copy after seeing her play it at Street Parade. His re-work felt fated, but that didn’t mean it was easy. “I know it was a difficult one for him to do. We didn’t expect the track to be such a huge hit, so I was very interested to see what he’d do. He’s done an amazing job!” she buzzes. Butch delivers an inspired off-kilter minimal house interpretation, that’s heavy on mood without losing the spirit of her original.

Markus Homm is not the barker, although simply this guy's build is already impressive. Unlike many other artists nowadays, whose success is based on staging and sham, Markus is one of those authentic characters who observe in the background and only come to the fore when there is quality involved. And well, this Markus' productions are always based on quality especially when it comes to his secret groove recipe that causes a severe urge to dance when listening to his tunes.

We're proud to have Markus back on Still Hot with his new "Don't Know Why" EP. The eponymous a-side banger is a promising summer groove monster which has an unrestrained drive that only holds its breath for a very short but all the more dreamy break before the journey continues. 

Undoubtly the second track "Horizon" proves Markus' sophisticated composing as well as production skills: elaborate percussion elements meet a determined lead theme and are relined by a severely grooving bottom end. Less is more in perfection, Mr. Homm!

It's Guido Schneider who succeeds in giving "Horizon" a meaningful and incredibly smart interpretation. After the first two rounds of groove lectures by Professor Homm, it's on Professor Schneider to show his mad skills: Puristic, raw but still to the point, smart and cool to the bone Guido's remix is an aesthetic enjoyment for any for audiophile.

We absolutely "Don't Know Why" this could not become a hot contender for this summer's top EPs. Enjoy.

Hot on the heels of the recent Normalizm EP and 4-tracker that topped vinyl charts for Kerri Chandlers Kaoz Theory, Art Department drops a 3 track vinyl-only offering for this year’s Record Store Day, simply titled ‘A Record For Records Sake’. The release kicks off with a warm, filtered and looped sample work out featuring disco guitar licks and a simple, infectious key melody executed in typically raw Art Department fashion. The song comes with a “Dolled Up Mix” which sees subtle changes in filter work and mixdown to extract  a different emotion from the record. The EP closes with a straight forward house offering in “d’igualada “, a stripped back and deep affair with muted jazz undertones and relentless rhythm section. A perfect vinyl contribution to celebrate Record Store Day from the veteran Art Department.

Jonny White, the Canadian linchpin better known as Art Department, is next to bolster Kwench Records’ reputation as a sought-after source of heady club tracks. 

Amassing a huge global following as a DJ, producer, record label boss and wildlife conservationist, he lands on Cassy’s label after an eventful six-month sprint. He’s dropped new tracks via his imprint No.19 Music as well as releasing tracks from Cassy, DJ Sneak and Tripmastaz through the imprint; toured across South America, Europe, East Asia and North America; dished up fresh solo material on The Martinez Brothers’ label Cuttin’ Headz; and worked tirelessly to promote peaceful co-existence with wildlife through his co-founded charity Music Against Animal Cruelty (MAAC).

Vigorous title track ‘I’s On U’ is a magnetic slab of purposeful peak-time goodness, with a virulent groove propelled by propulsive drums and stacked claps. Art Department brings more heat with the tireless thrust and taut grip of ‘Mind Made Up’, before dusting the EP off with exultant track ‘Rings Of Jupiter’, an invigorating stomper that possess a kicking low end.

Seth Troxler is one of electronic music’s most instantly recognisable artists. He has carved out his own unique path as a cultural commentator, art curator, restaurateur and entrepreneur. Descended from a family of cowboys and Baptist preachers, Seth is part African-American, with a singular approach to viewing the world through the prism of contemporary music culture.

Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and raised in suburban Detroit, Seth learnt the art of DJing initially from his stepfather (then a college radio DJ) and later from working, at only 16, behind the counter in legendary Detroit record store ‘Melodies & Memories’. It wasn’t until Seth made the decision to explore new horizons in the mid-2000s, moving to Berlin fresh out of his teens (after debuting at Panorama Bar at just 18 years old), that his DJ career really took off.

Since the move from Detroit to Berlin, then settling in London for a number of years, and now with his time divided between Ibiza and Berlin (Round 2), Seth has established himself as one of the world biggest DJs (voted the world’s number one DJ in scene bible Resident Advisor and gracing the front cover of Mixmag three times). He’s equally at home playing to the smoke-filled dance floors of some of the world’s most discerning nightclubs, such as CircoLoco, fabric (London), Nordstern (Basel), The Lux (Lisbon) or Blitz (Munich), as he is headlining the world’s largest festivals, like Glastonbury, Movement, Roskilde or Sonar.

Right from the word go, Seth has been as passionate about food and contemporary art as he is about music, and these two interests have resonated at all points, and in parallel, to his music career. A multi-faceted modern artist: he has held residencies at talismanic music institutions, run numerous record labels, and pursued his own solo recording career (including the recent ‘Play In The Dark’ collaboration with the Martinez Brothers on Crosstown Rebels, and ‘Lumartes’ that kick started CircoLoco Recordings in Summer 2021). Furthermore Seth has found the time to launch the successful Smokey Tails’ restaurant in London, to create and host his own party during the Rio Carnival, and then to stop everything and to take the time out to climb Kilimanjaro for charity.

More recently Seth has focussed his creative energies on his ‘Lost Souls of Saturn’ www.lostsoulsofsaturn.com project, alongside Phil Moffa and further opaque participants, that sits firmly at the intersection between futuristic electronica, contemporary art and technology. In 2019 Lost Souls Of Saturn presented their audio/visual installation Transmission at the Saatchi Gallery in London, after its premiere during Art Basel in Switzerland, and collaborated with the Met in New York and the Fondation Beyeler in Basel in 2021. Lost Souls Of Saturn are currently recording their second album and conducting further experiments in augmented reality and virtual reality, which will be revealed soon.

Extremely well travelled, constantly searching and experiencing, Seth Troxler continues to follow his own unique path.
