Pilier de la scène techno de Détroit aux côtés notamment de son compère Jeff Mills, Carl Craig à été bercé dès son enfance au son de Prince, Led Zeppelin ou les Smiths. Ado, il s’intéresse à la musique électronique Intéressé et décide de prendre des cours. Là il rencontre Derrick May, l’un des pionniers de la scène techno Mondiale, à qui il fait écouter ses compositions. Emballé, ce dernier le fait signer sur son propre label : Fragile.
« The Album Formerly Known As… » et un mix sur le prestigieux label Fabric, du nom de l’incontournable club londonien.

A pillar of the Detroit techno scene, alongside his bandmate Jeff Mills, Carl Craig was immersed in the sounds of Prince, Led Zeppelin, and The Smiths from childhood. As a teenager, he became interested in electronic music and decided to take lessons. There, he met Derrick May, one of the pioneers of the global techno scene, to whom he played his compositions. Enthralled, May signed him to his own label: Fragile.
"The Album Formerly Known As..." and a mix on the prestigious Fabric label, named after the iconic London club.

Die Bar99 ist nicht mehr. Am 10. Und 11. Mai hat man mit einem langen Closing über 2 Tage die Türen geschlossen. 

Ich durfte am Freitag den 10. Mai den Opener machen. Ganz klar konnte ich zur frühen Uhrzeit noch nicht so Gas geben. Dennoch ist das Set ein kleines feines emotionales und auch zum Teil rockiges Set geworden, welches die vielen schönen Stunden im kleinen roten Häuschen für mich noch mal  zum Abschluss bringt.  Ab und an ist es vielleicht ein klein wenig kitschig geworden, aber für einen Abschied ist eigentlich nichts zu kitschig. Den Leuten, die zu früher Stunde schon da waren, hatte es jedenfalls sichtlich gefallen und so kann auch ich ruhigen Gewissens good by Bar99 sagen.
