Angefangen aufzulegen, habe ich aus zwei Gründen:

1. Ich war genervt davon dass überall ständig Männer hinterm Mixer stehen und es als "eher ungewöhnlich" angesehen wird (langsam ändert sich das zum Glück), wenn Frauen härter auf die Tube drücken

2. Jeden Track den ich spiele, empfinde ich als ein einzelnes kleines Individuum und liebe es, wenn diese ineinander fließen und etwas völlig Neues daraus entsteht.
Für mich ist jedes Set eine eigene Klangreise und ich bin vorher immer aufgeregt, wohin es geht.

Auflegen ist für mich meistens eine wunderschöne Bubble, in der es möglich ist, mit den Leuten zusammen, allen Scheiß vor der Türe zu lassen und sich ins absolute Hier und Jetzt zu stürzen.

Dieses „Hier und Jetzt“ hab ich mit jaLLa und einer unglaublichen Crowd in der Räuberhöhle erfahren dürfen und ich muss sagen eine Moment den ich nie vergessen werde. 

Hier auch noch ein Dankeschön an meine Partykumpanen Philipp und Tati … so viel Spaß hat ich selten.

Hierrüber bin ich auch auf ihn aufmerksam geworden und natürlich durch sein grandioses Set letztes Jahr vom Uckeralm Festival.

Bio:
A subtle warm-up and an unexpected prime-time is what Felix Cage seeks to share with the audience. The music awakens the senses and sounds turn into perspective.Born in Paris, Felix grows up in Moscow. Classical music, Russian pop-rock of the early 90’s as well as the echos of the European house scene form his musical background. It is later in Belgium that Felix fully embracing the electronic music movement, the European clubbing culture broadens his musical horizons leading to DJing and later to production of music.Together with friends from Brussels club scene Felix starts Borderline Corp. 

In 2009, a collective of DJs and producers who aim to promote non commercial music above usual FM standards played in clubs. Weekly parties and a radio show follow shortly, where Felix Cage gets to play with artists like Robert Babicz, Pole Folder and Guy J. Around the same time he demonstrates his production skills with a remix of Jaksa Pavicevic’s track, Groovin’ on A Must Have Records, followed by remix of Take Me Down produced by Timofey, Bartosz Brenes and Riya on Dirty Soul taking first position on label’s Beatport chart for several weeks.

With guest appearances on Proton Radio, Frisky Artist of the Week Show, podcast for HMWL, resident at the most prominent underground club The Wood in Brussels as well as numerous upcoming productions, Felix Cage continues his path to become an established electronic music artist.

3 QUESTIONS to SOLVANE:

Q: Talking about your mix: how did you meet the bass with your selection? 

A: I was playing in bands my whole youth and was not at all into electronic music in my teenager years. In my early twenties I started with Daft Punk and slipped pretty fast into Electro, as this was way closer to where I was coming from: Rock and Punk-Rock. I decided to make a very honest podcast. Not with Ableton Live but recording it like I did it 10 years ago. I was checking my dusty vinyl collection and my old MP3s and made the DJ-mix without a setlist. Recorded it with a first take and didn't do any reworks. I've selected a lot of big classics from my past but played them in a way more comfortable bpm than 10 years ago. It felt good to me and I hope you guys like it just like I do. 

Q: You´ve been to Japan for a tour a few days ago. Tell us about! 

A: What a crazy country. It's even way more crazy than I expected. I've already played in a lot of Asian countries like Malaysia or Thailand but Japan was completely new to me. I've had the honour to play in 5 different cities 5 nights in a row and it was very intense. Very few sleep but lots of traveling and alcohol. I was really happy to share most of the days with lovely acts like Bebetta or Seth Schwarz! You can find a tour-video on my facebook page end of November. 

Q: You recently released on Stil vor Talent. Which further projects are coming up next? 

A: I was on the road a lot the last weeks so I am pretty happy to finally find some time to work on a follow-up release for Stil Vor Talent with my buddy Prismode. We've already finished a bunch of tracks and I hope Oli will like them as much as we do. So, there will be a new EP pretty soon.

3 QUESTIONS to ANII:

Q: You recently signed to KOMPAKT. A dream became true?

A: Haha - well, I feel like I’m dreaming. I didn’t only just sign to Kompakt, I feel like I found a new home for myself and my music. The entire Kompakt team has been so wonderful. I feel extremely lucky and very excited for what will come in 2018.

Q: Tell us about your selection. How did these tracks find the way to your heart once?

A: This was way more fun to put together than expected. I ended up recording precisely 100 minutes for your no. 100 series which I thought was pretty cool as I didn't intend to do it. I put my set together in a way to present my journey from 1998 all the way through to my first release on Making You Dance Records (as Ańii) from early 2016. This gave me the opportunity to go back in time which brought back a ton of memories! I hope that after listening to my set that you will understand a bit more about me.

Q: Which Anii projects are coming this year?

A: I’m taking it slow for the time being as I am very excited about my first Kompakt 12" EP which is out in March and already working on another release for them. Right now I am doing a remix for a really cool Indie band Cults which should be out in late-January.
