Settle Into Winter (Instrumental)

Recorded Dec 2nd (i think).  Positioning the mic every so right in the living room, Shantzy on the electric drums plugged into a tiny Fender Squire amp we got the sound just right.  This one take track has turned out to be my fav.  Is your salad so disgusting it needs to be tossed?  these are the questions one must ask. hahah   I didn't take this one too seriously.

Pie In The Sky

Enjoyed recording this cover of Harvey Danger's Flagpole Sitta, a 90s one hit wonder track I absolutely love.  This is the first time I recorded with someone that wasn't living in the same area.  Brian Kong does wonder on this track on the vocals all the way from Chicago.  The interweb allowed me to send Brian the track for him to sing on.  I think this cover turned out great, I love listening to it.  Enjoy.

Flagpole Sitta

There is a feeling Canadians, i imagine northerners in general feel when winter arrives.  Christmas is over, New Year's Eve done and the full effect of winter creeps in.  I wrote this song January 2015 on dull day when the sky was that monotone shade all day.  
The quality of this recording is not my favourite by any means.. but what I love about it how the song is captured.

Summer IPA Sessions was recorded mainly on the back deck of our house in Chatham, Ontario.  You can tell right away that a lot of the tracks have the sounds of cicadas on them.  Recorded on a bit of a whim an odd collection of 4 songs, one being Tom Petty's Yer So Bad.  The rest original songs, one being Heat Score which I've tried to record many times and think I finally got the essence of it right this time... thanks to seeing all those great Chatham friends not that long ago.  Enjoy this 4 songs recording session, I sure did.  


Settle Into Winter EP was recorded at Driftwood Studios (my house) between late Oct to early Dec 2015, particularly the weekend of Nov 21, 22, 23 when Shantzy and Zinger joined the session to add to the vibe.  Also Dec 2nd when Shantzy busted the sweet beat that is on F.Y.S that faithful night.  
This album, collection of songs, 'extended play' are songs going back to summer 2014.  Nearing the end of 2015 I had a deep urge to record these songs. I need to get them out of my system to move on.   At the time I didn't know why but as the recordings were winding down a large change in my life happened and it all made sense.  New job, new city, big change! These songs are reflection of my time in Burlington and for whatever reason I needed to record them to order to open a new chapter, .  ah shuchs I'm rambling again.    I hope you enjoy and maybe even listen more than once.
