Sol Selectas is proud to present “Origins” , a 10 song album from India’s Hamza Rahimtula, and the Rajasthan Folkstars.

The Rajasthan Folkstars, members of the Manganiyars community, are known as the living archives of the Thar Desert, carrying centuries of ballads, devotional songs, and intergenerational knowledge. "In our families, when children are born, they cry in tune," goes a famous saying in their community. 
  
Origins is a vivid tapestry of sound where ancestral instruments meet modern electronic production. Hamza seamlessly fuses classic deep house music grooves reminiscent of Chicago and the soulful NY Underground sounds, with the raw folk expressions of traditional Rajasthani instrumentation and vocals. 
The Rajasthan Folkstars include master musicians Jaisa Khan (khartal), Firoz Khan (bhapang), Bhutta Khan (vocals), Bhawru Khan (sarangi), and Shakoor Khan Langa (algoza flute, morchang). 

Origins is both a tribute and a transformation, elevating traditional sounds for contemporary audiences, and reaffirming the timeless power of music to connect cultures.

The artwork by Helia captures the essence of the vibrant colors expressed in the culture, people and architecture of Rajasthan.

Sabo's record label, Sol Selectas, sets sail on its tenth annual Summer Sol compilation, which collects together tracks from around the world. Focusing on organic house, it also features genres such as Afro house, deep house, downtempo, and deep tech.

It features 25 tracks that have roots in 17 different countries, and includes contributions from label favourites such as Sabo, Yamil, Mula, Giovanni Aparicio, Guy Maayan, Adwas, and DJ Phellix. There are also many Sol Selectas debuts, including the first ever official releases by the likes of Rameff, Matur, DBRA, and Basement Radio.

The compilation celebrates the day of the summer solstice, which is the year's longest day of sunlight. Embracing cultural diversity, it features tracks by artists with roots in Egypt, Iran, Tunisia, Greece, Armenia, Russia, Ukraine, USA, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Poland, Indonesia, France, Germany, Israel, and Argentina.

Summer Sol's concept reminds us that under the sun's rays we are all equal, regardless of skin colour, gender, political allegiances or sexuality. This release is a celebration of how music brings people together, and that diversity is something to embrace with open arms.

Each of the tracks on this compilation have been hand selected by Sabo with the intention to uplift the body, open the mind, and touch the soul.
