It all started with a simple Handpan recording...
Its sound sparked something deep inside me. Then came the Afro-house style kicks and percussions, building the pulse of the track.
With my lovely PSR Santana electric guitar, I added some ambient tones, a floating space between earth and sky.
Finally, the soulful Persian Kamanche joined in, bringing the spirit of the East into this modern blend.
That’s how Echo of Us was born, the echo of all of us, in a world where borders are fading.

گاهی موسیقی از برنامه و ایده شروع نمی‌شه، از یک لحظه شروع می‌شه.
یه روز صمیمی‌ترین هم‌راهم یک هنگ‌درام آورد به استودیوی من در دوسلدورف…
صداش و وجودش فضا رو پر کرد، انگار نوری وارد اتاق شد.
با Neumann TLM 102-و Avalon Sp 737 preamp ضبطش کردم، بعد چند کیک و پرکاشن آفروهاوس ساختم و کار جوون گرفت.
بعد با گیتار مورد علاقم PSR Santana چند لایه اتمسفریک اضافه کردم، و فضای کار رویایی‌تر شد.
اما جادو وقتی اتفاق افتاد که حسین کاشف با کمانچه‌اش اومد.
با هم خندیدیم، گپ زدیم، او نواخت و من ضبط کردم…
یه قطعه که نه فقط از صدا، بلکه از احساس و دوستی ساخته شد.

Washington, D.C. based @SolPowerDC are lining up their next release, this time it's a series of edits from Boston, MA's @Bosqmusic. Slotting perfectly into Sol Power's percussive, afro and disco leaning sound, the edits take four of Orchestre Poly Rythmo de Cotonou's songs and give them subtle, tasteful reworks. Bosq has been exploring various afro-latin avenues in many of his works over the last several years, which include three albums and an EP, although the edits here may actually be closer to his roots as one half of the @WhiskeyBarons, notorious for their edits and remixes.

Orchestre Poly Rythmo de Cotonou formed back in 1966 in Benin and released hundreds of songs in the decades that followed. The band has recently re-formed and started touring again, also releasing an album back in 2011. Bosq cites them as a major influence on his work to date and wanted to be respectful to the original material when working on his edits. Our premiere today comes courtesy of the B1 on the record. Taking Orchestre Poly Rythmo de Cotonou's track 'Djanfa Magni', Bosq introduces a beefier low end while lightly re-arranging parts of the original cut and adding some extra percussion. These DJ friendly edits are sure to heat up plenty of summer's end parties so don't sleep and get your pre-orders in.

my remix of 2 Block Radius - For Nicole.  dedicated to a friend gone too soon...

This Roam Recordings release is a tribute to Nicole Mason who passed in a tragic accident. Nicole was a major part of the featured artist collaboration 2 Block Radius along with Tom Cloutman and Tee Cardaci founded in 1999.

During the late 90s early 00s San Francisco was a hotbed for dance music. Musicians from around the word moved to the city and serendipitously ended up living within 2 Blocks from each other in the Lower Haight neighborhood. A community of artists and musicians sprouted up. Roam Recordings started there and label boss JP Soul ran a popular after hours spot next to the legendary DJ bar The Top. Tweakin’ Records was on the block and Nicole lived above the store where he kept a recording studio and was always around for deep conversation and a good laugh.
