Gated's second compilation takes inspiration from the path less travelled, the earthen underbelly that binds disparate threads to its wonky centre.

So while the music here is from artists all over the world, each track is grounded in a quirky, off-kilter sound, from the opener by UK hardware house don @perseus-traxx to the closer by Space Agent, the alias of a yet-to-be unveiled techno artist.

In between we get Gated stalwarts @guavid, @polyseme, @acidulant, and @LloydStellar with their takes on the wonk, plus glassy-eyed electro from Austin, USA-based @collinsullivan, unusually banging fare from man of the moment @MOY, and broken techno from the criminally under-appreciated @StacieAnneChu.

There's also the reissued and remastered sub-bass squelcher Beta Carotene by @modifiedsounds, which was originally released in 1998 on UK breaks label Slalom.

I did a DJ Nasty mix a few years back to celebrate one of my favourite artists to come out of Detroit, but in the interim he has flourished once again and risen up to create another persona: Detroit's Filthiest; a fucked-up funkster and beat master whose aim is to make sure that you get down with the most soulful and downright dirty machine music to come out of the 313 in years.

Pour ce premier podcast 2023 on accueille Saint Misère ( @saintmisere) DJ franco-camerounaise aux grooves polymorphes, qui navigue entre différents styles de musiques électroniques (bass, grooves, acid, electro, trap...). Son univers musical dévoile une large palette mélodique et rythmique, et se caractérise par ses influences dans le jazz, les musiques traditionnelles d’Afrique noire et le hip-hop.
Elle fait partie de ces artistes laissant une trace à chacun de leurs passages, en se démarquant par des DJs sets libérés de toute contrainte et imprégnés de sa patte singulière.
