NYC event brand Zero launch their new label arm with a superb new EP from German live artist Jacob Groening that comes with remixes from Lovecraft and unders & Noraj Cue. It comes after years of releasing on other vital outlets and establishing himself as a unique voice in the house underground. 

Opener Nican feat. Joy Tyson is a deep and spiritual house roller. The lush drums and hits sink you into a cavernous groove and majestic, wispy synths and percussion add the vital detail. Timo slows right down and has finger clicks and a rugged synth riff over the lazy, loveable drums. It's a super nice vibe thats as thoughtful as it is deep. 

Timo (Lovecraft Remix) is more upright, but stays just as deep, taking you late into the night on distant synth smears with a rising lead occupying the mind. Jacob Groening - Nican (unders & Noraj Cue Remix) is the most direct of them all, but the airy and angelic vocals keep it heady and spiritual. 

This is a tasteful EP of richly rewarding deep house

About Eden Hagos
Eritrean-American DJ, producer, and all-around creative, Eden Hagos brings visibility to future sounds you can’t quite put your finger on. Deeply rooted in underground hip-hop, sample-based percussion-heavy tunes, and future bass, Eden’s ear for unique music has kept her digging since her uncle gave her first Fugees album at age 16. With 20+ mixtapes released, the third installment, Currently, caught the attention of OkayPlayer, calling her “a prophet of future sounds.” Her mixes have connected her to local producers, artists, and labels, building bridges in the beat scene. Miss Hagos’ love for creative culture has led to performances at underground clubs, international festivals, and fashion and celebrity events. She has opened for Snakehips, Anderson .Paak, JMSN, Syd tha Kid, Tokimonsta, Sango, and Goldlink, among others. Eden continues to shine light on beatmakers in this movement while educating listeners about the many genres within these future sounds.

PREMIERE: Zakir - Ruhi (Just Emma Remix)  [Sol Selectas] 

The Sol Selectas family expands to Moscow Russia, with a debut EP from Zakir. 
The titles "Ruhi" and  "Meree Aatma" translate to the same meaning: "my Soul". These words are also terms of endearment for a person's lover, and Zakir tells the story of two Oriental love stories.  "Ruhi" is an Arabian tale with a magical oud, while  "Meree Aatma"  is an Indian romance with an enchanting flute.  The live instrumentation  blends beautifully with warm bass and arpeggios for an irrisistable groove. For the remix,  Just Emma from Under Your Skin Records, strips down the original "Ruhi", creating a deeper slow track of beautiful Arabesque techno. Sol Selectas label head Sabo transforms "Meree Aatma" into a percussive workout with lush strings and sitar for serious dance floor momentum.
