As TOR continues to set a strong early foundation, we head to the Meditteranean for an EP bursting with summer flavor and genuine energy. Collaborations are a pillar of the label program at When We Dip, as they capture the community and collective essence of electronic music.

Greek aficionado VieL has garnered a stellar reputation for groove and melody through a string of projects with Tale & Tone, Hoomidas, and Akbal Music. Joining him in the drivers seat are Italian comrades Madraas; a revamped moniker for a longtime partnership, who’ve graced the likes of Soundgarden and Ready Mix Records. The three seasoned producers have come together for a top drawer project, joining TOR in the presentation of the Vires EP.

Setting the stage is the release’s title track, Vires. We dive right into the groove as a crisp kick sets the mood for a track brimming with low frequency. The haunting basslines are infectious, as light percussive rhythms and strings bring character to the breakdown. A late-night tune for vibey dancefloors.

Roques harnesses melancholic melodies for a smooth and dreamy affair. A simple vocal loop plays along in background, as natural textures and swirling synths keep listeners' minds moving.

Rounding out the trio, Omnes brings heady percussion and piano work. Rhythms rotate from the start, and a playful melody brings a sense of cohesiveness to the EP’s closing.

Long before humans were able to count time in days, weeks, months and years, they measured their lives in seasons. Seasons come and go. They define, and help structure, our lives. When we think back, our memories from the past are often framed by the blazing colours of autumn’s leaves, or the warm kiss of a spring breeze.
Without seasons, time slips through our fingers more easily, and our experiences melt into one another. And summer is a special season. A time of freedom, of joy, of coming together. Summers are for journeys. Trips to new and exciting places. Adventures that play out under the heat of the sun, giving life to everything it touches. Exploration and experience, new sensations and new people. It made sense, therefore, to start our musical journey through the four seasons in this most-cherished period of the year: the summer.
Across the 10 tracks on this VA, we have collected a group of tracks that shimmer and buzz with the energy of long, brilliant nights under the stars, but which also capture the unhurried calm of a balmy, carefree summer’s afternoon. From a selection of our favourite artists and friends in the world, Seasons : Volume 1 brings together an extraordinarily talented group of musicians, each of whom has crafted a slice of summer in their track. Some tracks pulse and throb with intense energy, while others take the scenic route, mesmerising us with emotional melodies. One thing is for sure: every artist wants to take the listener on a journey.

Madloch - Grindstone (Baez Remix) [3rd Avenue]

Now marching into its third year as a label, Behrouz's Do Not Sit On The Furniture continues to furnish us with some of the most captivating, organic and deep house possible. Defying the curse of 2020, the label has been consistent in its approach and delivery this year, perpetually immersing us in a sound that transcends the dancefloors and permeates our imagination in ways that many labels can only dream of. 
Following big dispatches from SEGG, Shai T and Dorian Craft comes another sonic delight from Matthias Meyer. A kindred sonic spirit, here the Watergate legend makes his debut with the beautiful 'Lacuna'. Eight minutes of sultry, dusky moonlit house pleasure, slowly but surely 'Lacuna', created in collaboration with good friend Xinobi, opens out with layers of sweeping, swooping chords and instrumentation over a loose, light-footed jacking beat. Gathering momentum throughout, there's a touching moment of respite on the breakdown before the emotions takeover for the grand finale. 
It's complemented by another like-minded soul as Warung's Facundo Mohrr also makes his label debut with an exemplary remix. Extending the groove by well over a minute and adding a distinctly Latin hip-wriggling twist with a rolling beat and sprightly keys bringing a whole new musical layer. 
One track, one remix, one super-consistent label, two on-point producers: Do Not Sit On The Furniture continue to march into the unknown. You'd be wise to join them.

MBR418: Everything Counts - Mbodiene
Everything Counts takes us on a deep-seated journey to the western coast of Africa. The coastal village
of Mbodiene is at the core and fora of this picturesque three-part series, started off by the Swiss duo’s
original mix. Half Toshka, half Chris Leon, Everything Counts render quixotic soundscapes, combining
Afro-infused rhythms, earthy percussion and tribal soul into electronic ambience, by grace of melody.
Calabria’s Matt Sawyers joins us and his longtime friends with a reinterpretation of Mbodiene. Teeming
with ethnic dreaminess and soothing progressions, Matteo Cacciola’s mix is a halcyon escape to indulge
our sonic reveries. Yielding a brusque, fiery take on the original, Mozambique’s Double Drop wraps up
MBR418 with a rawer Mbodiene - warm, impassioned and rooted in the rich, resonant grounding of our
mother continent. In this 20:54 minute flight, we dance our way to the destination, and alas, we can just
keep going there.

We couldn’t get enough of the legendary Bonga’s 70’s classic, and just a few months after we
released Pablo Fierro’s remix, we invite Everything Counts to center stage to render their own
interpretation. And of course, the Swiss duo delivered. Swelling on body-binding rhythm and
groove that envelop Bonga’s soulful saudade-saturated lyrics, Toshka and Chris Leon bridge
Jose Adelino Barcelo de Carvelho’s ardent emotions then with the ongoing now, preserving its
timelessness, as their percussion-rich instrumentals, complemented with and augmented by
subtle electronic tweaks resonate Bonga’s rasp so precisely, the Angolan’s vocal timbre vibrates
shivers to our core. Tenderness aside, Everything Counts keeps the temperatures high with this
Afro-Latin infused dancefloor incendiary, wafting cadenced humming, hypnotic beats and
orbicular riffs to steer this 7:31 minute joyride to tropical euphoria.

Seven Villas names a group of villages situated on east Cantabria - Spain. Known for its monuments from the XVI and landscapes, those villages saw how Pablo Bolivar grew up at the same time he developed his passion for music and his homeland.

Today, Seven Villas becomes his personal project, a platform specially created to publish music that match his definition of "Musica para Estar", introducing new talented artists and combining their original works with interpretations by his favourites underground artists.
