Marcel Dettmann is a rarity in electronic music. His precocious disdain for rules has been one of the key ingredients for a decades-spanning arc that started sometime around the fall of the Berlin Wall (with early exposure to post-punk, industrial and synth pop) and continues to this day. His leitmotif is instantly recognisable, expertly layered, playfully syncopated, and though his influence is everywhere, no one quite manages to copy his pioneering sound. His formative influences surface frequently, serious atonal arrangements that follow the logic of EBM descending into a flurry of protean melodies; maybe this versatility is why, for a long time now, Dettmann’s sound has been so synonymous with a city in flux. DJ handbag is a long-standing presence in Berlin’s underground queer scene, known for electrifying sets that radiate trans femme energy and unapologetic joy. A core member of @ooze collective, her sound blends handbag, hardbag, house, UK bass and garage with a dose of diva drama and industrial edge.

Rooted in community and rebellion, her sets blur genre boundaries and bring together shimmering euphoria with raw intensity. Think dreamy textures, high-camp vocals, and full-throttle energy — all delivered with theatrical flair and serious skill.

This set was recorded in the SEVEN secret garden in Berlin in June 2025. We’d known Tal for years, but this was the first time hearing her play a full set — and we were blown away. Bold selections, flawless mixing, and an energy that lights up the whole dancefloor. She commands the booth with love and joy, and this one will have you dancing from start to finish.
