Once upon a time, KKIQ was a tiny local station in Livermore, CA.  Then, the crew that you hear on this aircheck changed all of that.  Unbelievable, almost 30 years ago!

This had to be about 1999/2000.  The 80's hadn't "come back" quite yet, but weekend DJ Ted Barcich was having some very successful shows on Saturday evenings with "The 80's Block Party" so we decided to give it a go Mon-Thur.  It was a blast!

It had been the usual stretch of hot weather, early summer in the late 90's.  I decided it would be cool to play some pool sound-effects and pretend we were broadcasting from the "pool above the 5th floor" at 7901 Stoneridge Dr in Pleasanton.  Of course, there was no pool, just a desire to have fun and make light of the warm weather.  I think we actually had a few people fooled.  What a disco-tastic evening!

80's superstar Rick Springfield joined the "80's at 8" one night.  He graciously spent the entire hour, joking, laughing and playing tunes.  Before the show, we had come up with the crazy notion that I was his on-screen "butt double" in the movie "Hard to Hold" (cuz he shows his ass in that film).  We laughed quite a bit and this was one of the resulting on-air bits based on that off-air joke.
