True to our word, when we say we are going to do something... we do it. So, a little earlier in the year, when we teased you with a trippy Jamie Stevens remix on the Mr. Tea EP, and said there was more of him coming out on Crossfrontier Audio sometime soon... well, we weren't lying, here it is: the Out of Hiding EP comes bursting onto the scene. 
Jamie Stevens is an experienced producer and DJ, who is no stranger to quality output on well known labels like Bedrock, Lost & Found and microCastle, throughout his colourful global career, he's been known to rock the spot and give his all to music; it's a pleasure to put out his debut for us. The Out of Hiding EP is a beaut little showcase of the latter and a great introduction to his continued evolution in music.  
You might have guessed from his dabblings on the well received Circles in the Sky, and from his dedication of years in the industry, but Jamie Stevens doesn't mess around; a true professional giving us some serious grooves. His CFA debut EP doesn't miss the mark either, with two original works: the fast-action, high octane self-titled single in Out of Hiding, and the formidably rhythmic Traces, both give a powerful dash of momentum to any set, and both maintain the standards of how Jamie sets the bar. 
Finally, tippling the honey out the jar for another weapon of a remix on their catalogue is the dastardly duo... Slow Hearts. Certainly in their element right now, track after track, remix after remix, as they continue to gain headway and take their sounds across the world. On Out of Hiding they've gone the extra mile, throwing in the punches and kicks to add their own personal touch, and it's just one more reason why you should love them as much as we do.
Moving into the second half of the year, as we continue to unfold more releases and bring those moments to the dance-floor, stay tuned for more eventful happenings... Because there is plenty more in store.

Norwegian duo Ost & Kjex make a welcomed return to Crosstown Rebels with a heady club cover of Prince’s Dirty Mind. Ninja Tune’s Seven Davis Jr. and German producer Basti Grub step up to remix with stellar results. 
 
After label boss Damian Lazarus asked why they hadn’t sent any new music lately, talented pair Ost & Kjex made it their mission to make a new release for Crosstown after 8 years. Delivering the goods, Dirty Mind is a minimalistic bomb with pulsating beats and soaring synths that lead you deep into the night.
 
“Our version of ‘Dirty Mind’ features our friend Mr. Mung from Mungolian Jet Set on vocals and we couldn’t be happier with our return release. The second track ‘Moviebox’ started of by using sounds from old 80s VHS machines, a sound design affair which turned out to be more melodic and trippy.” - Ost & Kjex
 
Ost & Kjex are responsible for the huge Crosstown releases How Not To Be A Biscuit and anthem Summertime with Jamie Jones. The duo have been releasing music for over a decade with two albums under their belt and notable releases on Solomun’s Diynamic amongst others. 
 
Best known for his releases on Ninja Tune, Seven Davis Jr. is a trained gospel vocalist, raised on the classic vocal sounds of Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Prince. A fitting remixer for this cover, he delivers a sleazy cut with an intoxicating bassline. Recognised for releases on the likes of Cocoon and Desolat, Basti Grub also makes his first appearance on Crosstown. For his remix he serves up an intricate slice techno for the big room with hypnotic layers.

But that doesn’t matter because it brings you further and you set the direction. Marc DePulse’s second longplayer “Kontrollverlust“ will be out in November. Loosing yourself in music, in trance - on purpose or because life takes it’s way - that’s what it’s about. While “Uranus51“ is mystical and spheric, a straight way into nowhere, the second track “Her Fragrance“ already catches you with dark, dirty bass lines and pulsating beats. Xenia Beliayeva’s vocals on the title track „Kontrollverlust“ are telling a story about love and sorrow at the same time. Visions, fantasy, the whole longplayer is full of emotions. 

“Hats Off“ starts with a bleeping and continues softly and peacefully. A perfect club tune followed by “Sienka“ with this little extra of funk. So now “Better Be Nice“ while dark basses are crashing in and techno tunes make their way. After “Tailwind“ and “Radio Star“ you remember that darkness gets always replaced by sunlight. Make your peace and get “Back To Bed“ till you recovered and under control. Finally „Prince Charming“ guids you to a beautiful place outside. A deep breath and you’re ready to go back where you started.
