Tonecycle Base 30 Hz, 2:3:7 consists of the linear superposition of 77 sine wave frequencies based on the invariant harmonic ratios 2, 3 and 7. Each of the sine wave frequency components gradually separates from each of the other components over time while ascending at slightly different rates of speed, and then descending toward the starting frequencies, infinitely revolving as in circles. These extremely close frequencies and their harmonics constantly produce beat cycles that traverse through a continuum of phase angles. The motion of the tones is extremely slow and therefore, the sense of the pitch shift practically imperceptible. However, because the tones are moving in constant speed toward the same direction and the relationship of corresponding frequencies remains relativistically invariant, it creates the aural illusion that the frequencies of tones remain unchanged. Rather, the interactions of the moving sine waves create the gradual development of distinctive melodic and rhythmic patterns over time as the result of the acoustical phenomenon of phase interference.

We're thrilled to announce the release of Black Lizard's self titled debut album, which drops via Soliti on the 5th April 2013 (on cd, vinyl & digital). Recording sessions that have taken place between Helsinki and Berlin with the participation of amongst others, Anton Newcombe, Black Lizard's debut has got us very excited. To add the required final piece of the puzzle the self-produced album was mastered by Sonic Boom at New Atlantis Studios.  Get as excited as us, share the first single from the album Love Is A Lie.

BLACK LIZARD : Love Is A Lie

All sounds (including drums and percussion) generated by my Transcendent 2000. Recorded in Reaper with a little delay and reverb added afterwards.

The Transcendent 2000 was an English single oscillator monosynth produced in kit form in the late 1970s. Designed by Tim Orr of EMS, the synth was used by Joy Division on their debut album "Unknown Pleasures". Examples are now extremely rare.
