ORO MI (Remix)

Wrote this at the height of the pandemic and didn't think we would be able to dance again. Wanted to try my hand on some reggaetón, something that would inspire people to dance. I worked in 3 different languages into the song - 1. Yoruba with the "Ijo Ya", which translates to "Time to Dance", 2. Spanish with "Baila" which means "Dance" and 3. English with "Dance"! So as it says in the song, "Here's a little song to move you feet - Just dance!"

Just Dance

Another song written during the height of the pandemic (2021). Felt I needed to do my bit to try to spread some love and happiness around. For this song, I tried to add elements of Michael Jackson, a little bit of soul-train disco vibes and a little nod to the old school g-funk era - Nate Dogg, Warren G and Dr Dre. This left me with a little conundrum - so what style do a label this song? Is it funk? Is it disco? is it G-funk? I'll let you decide. Let me know what you think!

Feel Good

Lofi for me represents nature and emotions. You close your eyes and get lost in the music, your thoughts and imaginations. When I made this song, I was out on a walk and found myself on a street with fallen and falling leaves of the autumn (fall) colors - orange, brown, yellow and red. That was the inspiration behind the sound of the music.

This one may be a bit controversial  - we live in a world where we value online appreciation, affection more than real life and we use those to measure our worth. This song is a play on the online lives we "live", the online lifestyle we portray, the limits we will go, how far we will push ourselves for that #Dat_life.

This is what I imagine being in a place of complete rest feels like. This track is meant to transport you to your place of tranquility, your place of Zen, your Jade Garden.

It's 3am. You wake can't sleep, you hear the ticking of the clock and so you turn on the radio. It's this lofi track. You go make a coffee. Whilst the water boils, you step out onto the balcony to hear the sound of the city below. Still alive. This song captures the mood, the city alive, the insomnia and everything else mixed in.

Going back to where it all started - on a Yamaha PSR-500 keyboard where the only 'African' beat was Bossa Nova so we sang all our Nigerian Songs to Bossa.

Yoruba Medley

Labor of love on this one! Had this song out 2020, wrote it at that height of the pandemic and had it professionally mixed and mastered but was really unhappy with the sound. So worked on other songs and reluctantly picked this back up to try to make it sound decent.

This is a shout out to Lighthouse family and there sound from the 90's.. using lush strings, piano and an acoustic sound to it but also with a positive message. Hope you all enjoy this one!
