Born on 28 June 1979 in the beautiful cosmopolitan city of Istanbul, Sei-Run is the alias of Turkish producer/DJ Serhan Akin. His passion for electronic music began in his childhood when he  discovered Giorgio Moroder's music through his sister's cassettes. He grew up with synth pop, disco, hard rock and psychedelic rock. In 1998 he moved to San Diego,CA to study university which became a milestone in his musical journey when he  experienced his first rave. Amazed by the beautiful rave culture, he purchased his first turntable decks. Under the name DJ Serhan, he got his first gig in San Diego's legendary after-hours club Hollywood Star in 2000. His performance leaded to a residency of the club . Sei-Run also performed in different venues in San Diego & Orange County opening up to local scene's DJ legends. In 2004 he became a promoter and launched his E-scension parties. After returning to this homeland Türkiye in 2004, he started to focus on his business career which resulted in building a successful home appliances brand "Arnica". In the meantime he started to produce music in 2008. His first release was a Remix of Türkiye's local hot talent Emrah Is' Dirty Cello which was released under his real name Serhan Akin on Unilife. 2011 was an important milestone in his life as well. During this year his daughter Solara was born.He took a break from DJing & producing music to focus more on family and work. During the COVID lockdown period, he started to become interested in music production again as he spent too much time at home. He began experimenting with sounds of afro house, organic house & melodic house which leaded to birth of Sei-Run. Sei-Run's first release was melodic house tune New Day released on Kalu Records. In June 2023, Sei-Run founded his record label Nihani (means hidden in Arabic) to become more independently & creatively involved in music production. Through Nihani it is time to reveal Sei-Run's musical inspirations.
