Release Info: 
Vivrant's second release of 2021 follows up on the first volume of the label’s new Commune VA series, which featured Swedish godfather of Techno Joel Mull, label boss Jeremy Olander, German virtuoso Sascha Braemer as well as Viggo Dyst, Carl Dern and Lexer. The Stockholm-based label’s 26th release gives us the return of man of the hour Marino Canal in the form of the reimagined 'Vangelis Dreams' EP, Marino’s debut project on Vivrant, featuring remixes from Afterlife standout Coeus, legend in the game Dominik Eulberg and Danish up-and-comers Baime. 

First out the gates is Baime with their reinterpretation of lead track 'Vangelis Dreams'. While maintaining the mystic and tranquil nature of the original, the Danish duo, which has previous releases on Radikon, Watergate and Elements, adds an additional layer of sawtooth bass lines and paranormal FX, creating a grittier and more raw track perfectly fitting for the wee hours of the afters. 

Second in line is Coeus. A staple name in the record bags of Tale of Us, Solomun, Adriatique and Dixon, this Serbian standout has become synonymous with the next wave of Balkan producers. His style of atmospheric, sinister yet melodic productions are a hand-in-glove fit with the vocal elements in 'Calling Me Back', and his contribution brings a dimension of groove to the track and gives it a given spin towards the peak time of your set. 

Last but certainly not last; Dominik Eulberg. A true pioneer and veteran on the scene and an alumni of distinguished imprints in the likes of Cocoon, K7, Traum and Anjunadeep, Dominik has created an epic melodic journey of 'Lost Souls Seeking Comfort'. With a soothing atmosphere that's set to captivate and enchant dance floors and festivals in the summer to come and beyond, we're comfortable saying his remix is a future Vivrant classic.

Evan De Novellis is an Italian DJ and producer whose passion lies in crafting beautifully emotive explorations within the genre of melodic techno. His first exposure to electronic music came courtesy of the ambient explorations of Moby, inspiring in him an appreciation for music that evokes a sense of melancholy.  He then fell for techno inspired by the works of artists such as Paul Kalkbrenner, Stephan Bodzin and Sam Paganini. De Novellis started producing at the age of 17 and has been making music since, with a sound that blurs the line between progressive house and techno, and is typified by dark, energetic sounds and melodies that stir both the senses and emotions.

De Novellis joins the SRNDR family with a trilogy of introspective works that typify his signature emotive and melodic techno sound. Collectively, the tracks provide an insight into his inner workings and a narrative of his life. “Tension”, the first of the releases, tells the story of a muddled mind affected by stress and anxiety. Driven by a strong, relentless bassline and a simple but memorably haunting topline, the track recreates the sense of uncertainty and tension through atmospheric synths created from the Moog Grandmother.

Evan De Novellis - Tension [SRNDR21014]

For Summer 2021 Villahangar releases the new EP of one of its founders, Matt Sawyer.

Italian, the artist has released on other labels such as Solomun's Diynamic Music, Dear Deer and his most recent Remix, Knowhat's “Tribalistars”, was supported by Black Coffee on the Keinemusik Radio Show and played by Brina Knauss on M2O on the DJMAG Session program.

Three tracks: “Cloud’s Song” – which gives the EP its name, - “Sunset Journey” and “Behind the Sun” with Manu EL, with an Organic House imprint, with a more progressive one.

The lead track “Cloud’s Song” had the support as a dj by Solomun and is an invoilving mix between Organic House and Progressive. With a repetitive drum, it sees a melodic development and then closes with an elongated round of piano, making it very psychedelic.

The second track “Sunset Journey” is 100% Organic House. It was made in collaboration with his longtime friend and percussionist, after working together at the Fidelio evening in Milan, Alex Donati. Matt, on Alex’s main idea, revised the writing of the sounds and drum positions, giving rise to a summery and tropical song, with afro sounds and ethnic nuances.

The third, “Behind the Sun”, sees the collaboration of the song with Manu EL, always active in the world of the night. The basic idea of the song is enriched by the constant piano round, and made more repetitive but with a more emotional pause than the other two tracks of the EP.

Montreal duo @bahamcollective serve up a scintillating new single on Kindisch that comes with a remix from Philipp Jung, formerly one half of M.A.N.D.Y.. 

Baham aim to express their own memories, stories and history in the rhythms of their electronic dance music. They meld the old and the new into mystical expressions steeped in culture and built on enchanting beats. They showcase that here on a brilliantly tender new groove that is rich in cultural references. 

'Mara Beboos (Golnaraghi)' is a seductive six-minute track with languid bass and rolling kicks that sink you into a state of deep hypnosis from the off. The playful melodies bring a sense of charm before falling away to reveal some exotic vocal chants all the way from the Middle East. It all adds up to a hugely characterful cut. 

Philipp Jung is the Get Physical Music and Kindisch A&R and a legendary German DJ and producer who toured the world and co-wrote many dance music hits as one half of M.A.N.D.Y. He flips the original into a more club-ready house cut with bouncing drums, hooky percussive sounds and curious melodies that lead you even further down the rabbit hole into a world of late-night whimsy.

Jeremy Olander returns to the helm next Friday, December 11, with a momentous three track crooner, dishing out several of the Swedish DJ's most anticipated and sought after 2020 productions through the release of his new Rubicks EP

Heard in full-length and quality for the first time on Dancing Astronaut, the EP's title track delivers the sophisticated and nuanced club flare that fans have come to expect from Olander and his signature label, Vivrant Records. "Rubicks" puts Olander's melodic prowess is on full display, however the real star of the show are the melancholic synths that ebb, flow, and jive their way through the tune's progressive inspired drops. The result isn't necessarily a peak hour, hands in the air face-melter, but a refreshingly contemplative and intricate house tune that reveals just a bit more of itself with each and every listen.

Those who have followed Jeremy Olander's ironclad mixes through lockdown may recognize "Rubicks" as the adorned "Berns ID 02," a production that's caught the attention of aficionados since at least March of this year. The remainder of the release, available December 11, features equally revered IDs in "Summit" and "The Mist" (previously regarded as "Balance Tour ID" and "Whiskey Jar ID," respectively).
