I have been listening to a lot of Andy Stott's music recently, so to take a bit of a break from creating fast-paced, driving techno - I instead  thought I would have a crack at approaching a track from a much slower tempo (103bpm), and focusing more heavily upon deep and dark atmosphere, as well as paying a lot more attention to the sound design stage than normal. Considering I never really produce at these speeds, I'm real happy with the end  result and cannot wait to give it a run-through on a larger PA system or my own home studio monitors. 

This track draws a lot of stylistic and sonic influences from one particular album of Andy Stott's: 'Luxury Problems'.

Started reworking the beginning of a project I had started weeks ago, but hadn't continued working on, yet. 

Tempo and raw dirty drive is inspired by the chaotic state of politics currently in the UK (or US, or Australia, really)

Vote Of No Confidence (14th Dec WIP)

A few hours of mucking around with field-recorded samples (sent from a friend, via their snapchat story from weeks ago) and harder driving loops: was inspired and influenced in part by seeing Regis play in Melbourne the other week, a couple of hours after I got home I jumped in ableton and messed around and made this WIP. No real EQ on most channels and pretty raw mixdown, basic automation recordings of filters and delays. Inspired by the 90's Regis style of tracks like baptism and Purification.

Very raw, rough, no EQ's, lots of parallel distortion and parallel compression , hard limiter on main buss

Neurasthenia

Beginning a bit more of my foray into producing Hard Techno/Schranz, I've worked a lot on the sound design behind some aspects in the past (sidechained reverb rumble on kick drums, heavy distortion processing and compression, etc) - but actually structuring a track and finding the right sounds has been taking practice. 

Inspired by the likes of Daniela Haverbeck, Fernanda Martins, Jan Fleck, Viper XXL, SVETEC, and the such.

Our Recursions_D01 (March Export)

I created this back in 2012 when I was still learning music production and also using Fruity Loops Studio, the idea was to make a "techno" track (my idea of techno back then was a lot different to what it is now) and to use Ryu's Death SFX noise from Street Fighter as a chord stab/synth stab to drive the track. Then I just peppered in a lot of other random sounds. Listening back, it is pretty funny how absurdly dumb it is but it was a good concept to learn some basics of track progression and phrasing of dance music, etc, and a bit of mixing.

The most stupid piece of dance music I've ever created

Years ago (When I was still using Fruityloops) my best mate's housemate had a voice message left on their phone (when Telstra voice message 101 was still around) and it directed to my friends phone, so we saved it and I ended up chopping it up and making a bit of a (harder) techno/hardcore track from it, just for a laugh. I thought I'd reupload it again as upon relistening it was better than I remember - and still funny.
