I have been thinking about it a lot and I have decided that DUFFDISCO007 is the last bootleg I am going to press to wax. It's been fun and I hope you all enjoyed them but I think it's the right time to stop. (you can order the last in the series here - http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/450211-01.htm)

I do however want to continue re-imagining songs and giving my interpretation of them for you to play and listen to and so i'll be giving the reworks away for free. I have set up a donations page if anyone wanted to help with covering the costs of mastering future tracks as i'd still want the best sound possible as I can't afford to be paying for it all myself.

So keep an eye out for new tracks! donate whatever you feel appropriate, of course you can still download if you can't afford to donate.

Welcome to the first ever Cookie-Dough Guest mix were we have invited DJ, producer and re-edit whiz kid Henry Greenwood to dig deep into his collection and put together a mix of records that have influenced him over the years. A prominent figure on the re-edits scene his re-work of Neneh Cherry’s ‘Buffalo Stance’ was one of the biggest re-edits of 2013 receiving the ultimate ‘thumbs up’ from Mr Re-Edit himself Greg Wilson. Here at Cookie-Dough HQ we are made up that Henry has taken time out of his busy schedule to put together a one-off belter of a mix just for us. Cheers H! @henrygreenwood

A few words from Henry…

This was simultaneously the most fun and the hardest thing to do! I decided to go with the honest approach. I’ll probably live to regret it, but when I was 9, I was into pop music, and that ‘s how I’ve started the mix – If you stick with it past the early guilty pleasures (i.e. ace pop tunes) I’ll be really grateful!

The mix ended up quite organically in three sections. It kicks off with tunes I loved growing up, gradually moving into a house party/bar residency/studenty theme. The second section moves into 4/4 territory, and the third section has a kind of after-hours vibe. There are a few pop culture references sprinkled throughout for you as well if you like that sort of thing.

This is a pretty good snapshot, but couldn’t be definitive – it was so hard to keep it to around 90 minutes! There was a whole 2-step/rave/DnB section that hit the cutting room floor, and there’s very little disco as the two Roller Disco mixes I’ve done kind of have that covered. It was a really personal thing to do actually, I relived some really nice memories and hopefully it explains some of the bits and bobs I come up with. Thanks to Ste and Terser for the opportunity to self-indulge!
