This is my 2nd time contributing to the Disquiet Junto "ice prompt" — the last time was 4 years ago! I recorded the sound of ice cubes tinkling in two different wine glasses, and one plastic cup for variation. This was a great excuse to learn how to use my new Liven Texture Lab, so I loaded some of the sounds into it jammed along with the raw recording. Blunderspublik - Easy On The Ice [Disquiet0679]

Long time admirer, first time poster. For this "extended version" Junto, I used my MIDI sequencer in an "unintended" way. I know that there are no rules when it comes to synthesizer patching, but I decided to try patching a random sequence into the "Amp" input of my Streams module, to see what it would sound like to frequency modulate audio using a sequence of notes. The sequence was 2.5 octaves of notes in the key of Emin, and the order of the notes was random, as was whether they would trigger at a step in the sequence or not. The gate output of the sequencer was gating the audio signal, which was coming from an old Yamaha digital synth set on the "Synth Vox 1" voice (it was a PSR-6 for you nerds). The Streams module was set to the Red Vactrol mode.
At the end of the song you can hear me adding some sample rate reduction to the sequencer sound while the Yamaha holds a single note. After recording the first track I went back and added the bassline you hear.

Rnd Seq Mod

Murmurer - Rnd Seq Mod / disquiet0329

I created the side project "Murmurer" to explore more minimal audio that wasn't as layered and narrative as the tracks that I produce as Blunderspublik. This track contains three elements (right now): a modulating drone that creates overtones and pulsing rhythms as its phasing changes, punctuating sets of two notes with added waves of noise, and a set of notes that pluck randomly later in the track. Feedback would be appreciated!

Murmurer - disquiet0429 [part 1]

The dice rolled UntilledSound and I rolled with it! I tried to complement the nice jagged rhythm with a round synth drone, and when that great "recorder grot" comes in I twiddled a bunch of knobs. I don't think i've ever hard panned anything in my life, but I like the combo of these two tracks together.

Murmurer / UntilledSound [Disquiet0430]

I was playing around with this synth bassline earlier in the day, and when I tried it with NorthWoods' percussion track the accents lined up really nicely, so voila! I'm curious to hear what a third layer might sound like...

Blunderspublik / NorthWoods [disquiet0430]

Part 3 of the Solitary Ensembles project proposed by the Disquiet Junto (see below for details). The random number generator landed on 90, which was a lovely ambient track by @steiner and @verosoma (thank you both). I thought I might add a bucolic acoustic track à la early Bibio, and it evolved from there. Hopefully I've added to the piece without destroying its beauty or pacing.

The envelope for the tones is provided by the Ornament & Crime module running its Viznutcracker program, so the aliens may recognize the "hope" equation (created by Royal Paw) that generates the pattern:

t*3&(t>>10)|t*12&(t>>10)|t*10&((t>>8)*55)&128

It sure looks alien to me! I also included frequencies below 40hz in case the aliens' hearing range is deeper than ours. You could also listen to this as though it's the kind of pop music that aliens might write...

Blunderspublik - Disquice 21 [disquiet0471]

Here's my contribution to Disquiet Junto's 2021 collaboration. The arpeggio is at 96 bpm, and it should line up nicely to a click track (once the chords come in...the opening envelope is at 128 bpm). It's in A minor, and I can't bear to pan it full-left, but you can! 
*No one took me up on my synth arpeggio last year, but I really enjoyed working with other people's tracks, so here I am again!
