Prep the “Why”: “I’ll ask some difficult questions to see if you have a need or not.” 4. Take Away/build trust/Critical Period:  “First, we’re NOT going to write up a full pay off policy; probably less than or even just a couple of months.”  “Not everybody needs this.”  “Most people need less than they actually think. My job is to find the smallest amount of coverage to do the job we need it to do.” 5. Client buy-in: Your input and participation is vital and you get to choose. 6. The process: “Here is how this works. I’ll help you fill out some paperwork today. Then it takes 5 to 7 days for the Carrier to issue the policy which I’ll deliver to you personally and we’ll go over it with a fine-toothed comb to make any needed changes. There’s a chance you may not be approved, but either way you’re going to see me again. Sound good?”
