My boy Big High stopped in on a recording session and mumbled a variation of the hook, "Money, money, Snort, snort.."
I took that idea & ran with it. Attempting to tell the stories of the cats I was seeing fall victim to the dope game. Upon hearing it Pooh lent a second verse & we included it on our 2010 mixtape, "No Country 4 Grown Men".

$, Greed, Lust [Feat. Pooh Sniper]

With both of our lives in turmoil, me and Pooh Sniper began work on a collaborative project. It would prove to be the first of many.  It was the first time I had attempted to share a project with another artist, & it was quite a learning experience.  
"Russian Roulette" the album showed our disgust with the music industry & our love for the music. By the time the album was finished we had both grown as artists & friends. This song was the beginning of a project that solidified one of the greatest friendships of my life. Six years later, I don't believe there is another artist who I could ever have made that kind of music with.

Another of the first handful of songs I ever made. "In Love With The Game" was autobiographical, not something that I'm proud of now, but every local hustler & drug dealer was bumping this track back in 05! 
I remember working a drive-thru window back then & hearing this out of folks speakers when they rolled up. It made folks pay attention to the music I was making, & at the time that was all I wanted.

This is another track from the long sessions at Crossed-Out. At the time I had a management deal with Blastzone Entertainment. They had convinced me that I should treat my upcoming project like a debut album. As a result, I tried to make songs that really expressed who I was as an artist. Of course that means I needed something "COUNTRY".
The intro is a voicemail from my homie Tippy from the KFC.

"Days Gone By" was one of the first 10 or 20 songs I ever recorded. It was released on my first series of "Tribulation" mixtapes, in 2005. The discs didn't even have covers, just a CD with some magic marker scribbles on it, tucked in a paper envelope. 
Much like the CD it was featured on, it's raw, but its real life. When I look back at the early songs that got me local attention, this is one of them!

Days Gone By

"Poor Kid" was created during an extremely low point in my life. I had recently lost my apartment to a fire & had set up residence in my homeboys barn. My personal life was a mess & I was battling a bit of drug use. 
The track pinpoints the time when I officially stopped giving a f*** what I said on records & decided to be 100% honest. Bear in mind this was 2006,... and I recorded it in a barn loft.

Poor Kid

"Who I Is" came about during an over 8 hour recording session at Crossed-Out Studios. 
The song was included on"The Leak", a short summer promo disc I released as an attempt to re-introduce myself to listeners who might not have been familiar with my music up to that time.
It's one of my favorite tracks with J-Cross. I still think the "sorta taught ya how to fish" line is some deep s**t.

Who I Is [Feat. J-Cross]

A track from my 2010 album, "My Life Story". It's got a different kinda vibe to it, almost a bluesy-rock sound. The lyrics where written probably a year before I ever recorded the song. it was just a matter of finding the right kinda sound musically to fit it. 
I had toyed with the idea of possibly trying to ghost-write or even attempting to do some songwriting for other artist & it started out as an example of the styles of songs I could write.
Against my better judgement I went ahead & included it on the project. Although it was slightly out of place among a disc filed with rap songs, feedback on the track was surprisingly good. 

Lonely Country Roads

"Mixin' Drinks" is one of my favorite TRC collaborations. I watched the group, founded by Pooh Sniper, grow from their first mixtape release. Sniper provided his usual style of lyricism to TRC's music & served as a sort of "creative director". Fatt Daddy Drac brought a darker, almost horror-core atmosphere to the tracks as well as a stoner stage presence like no other. While King G was 100% about the party. 
In a lot of ways, "Mixing Drinks..." was a King G anthem, the title originated from his repeated "orange juice plus" fueled performances. This track came at a time when we were heavy into the live shows & really needed more songs with a party vibe, and it never failed to tear the club up!

Mixin' Drinks On Stage [Feat. TRC & MG]

After a 10 track disc of my songs that I had given to a few friends began circulating locally to surprising praise, I decided to officially put together a mixtape & give music a try. I added about 10 songs I had recorded to the few from the sampler & "Tribulation: The Mixtape" was born. 
"Mourn For Me" was the closing track for that CD. I'll admit that the intro is a bit lengthy & vocals were rough (recorded on a computer microphone). I had yet to begin understanding how to properly mix, or even record music. It lyrically sums up my state of mind in 2005. Little did I know then how many other poor young hillbillies would also relate to the words I was saying. 

Mourn For Me

"Dance With Demons" was one of the more serious tracks featured on the "KY TImes" compilation. Another song dealing with addiction & the frustration of watching friends & loved ones abuse themselves through drug use. The hook is based on the experiences of dealing with a friend's nightmare.

Dance With Demons

"More Woman Than That" tells the story of three different women & their struggles to realize their own self worth. It was featured on Free's "Summer Promo 2005",  a mixtape intended to hype the release of his first official album, "Poverty's Prodigy"
