Today I remembered making wishes and having hope.

I found this rusty old coin in my pocket, from somebody I can’t recall, from a place I don’t know, with a purpose it hasn’t served. When I was a child and I would find them, I’d keep them until I saw the first well and I would make a wish.

But now money doesn’t make wishes come true, and there is no well. They dried up. Father told me the holy water font became mouldy. Marble cracked and prayers turned to dust on walls.

But I still have my hope. I know rain will come and I will melt in the soil I walked on and nature will bring nurture. And more shall live again.

This rework started as an instant response to the atmosphere of the original track - raw, distant, and beautifully restrained. I pitched it down five semitones, added my own percussion and reshaped some textures with subtle harmonic layers and ambient shifts. Special thanks to Bihler for the inspiration, guidance, and the oppotunity to make this a shared release.

Truth Radio’s 23rd installment of Truth’s lo-fi release series features Canadian CULT MEMBER with Stockholm EP. With active releases under ‘Space Tapes’ and ‘&Options’, CULT MEMBER’s ‘Lazer Sky’ is a part of a 4 track EP named after the capital city of Sweden. ‘Lazer Sky features bursts of acid underpinnings layered with hazy rhythms and hollowed kick drums that sound as if the X-Men villain, Juggernaut, is trudging to the beat far off in the distance. Multi-stacked vocals echo into the void like hot breath vaporizing into frigid air with a lullaby of a melody that trances you into an ambiguous dream.
