Chandu pays the astrologer, 5,000 rupees. Chandu now sends a letter to Hardas where he is giving the greed of wealth and power in return for putting on a poisoned robe onto Guru Ji. 
Upon reading, Hardas immediately brings it to Guru Ji and reads the content written by Chandu. Upon reading, Hardas burns the letter. Guru Ji replies, “This sinner is going to die a terrible death soon.” 
Hardas tells the messenger to stay a night and to pass the message to Chandu that “I reject his offer.”
Now, Chandu cunningly avoids any topic which can make Jahangir remember Guru Ji. He wanted Guru Ji to stay in Gwalior indefinitely. 
40 days passed but now Jahangir has forgotten and he was back to normal. Many days passed, but no news came on Guru Ji’s release from the fort. The Sikhs discussed that this is the same situation like Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Lahore. The chances of Jahangir releasing orders is bleak in the current situation. Bhai Jetha Ji says, “ If the Sikhs asks for Guru Ji’s permission to proceed with the plan to release Guru Ji from the fort, it will surely be rejected.” Bhai Pirana Ji says it is must to ask Guru Ji prior to performing any act. As this discussion was ongoing, Baba Buddha Ji walks in and the Sikhs asks on the purpose of their arrival. 
Baba Ji replies that Mata Gangga Ji has learnt that Guru Ji has come into a prison. Thus, he has been sent to assess the situation. Bhai Jetha Ji now asks Baba Buddha Ji’s opinion. Baba Buddha Ji says to Bhai Jetha and Bhai Pirana to use their miraculous powers and scare Jahangir. If Guru Ji ever asks who asked to do this act, just say Mata Gangga Ji wanted Guru Ji to be out of the prison. 
Baba Ji then meets Guru Ji and both spoke for sometime.
