Army Combat Veteran Retired (Sgt.)Denoh Grear in conjunction with The Wounded Warrior Project, David Lynch Foundation and the National Association of American Veterans, are working to help heal our heroes through art, poetry and spoken word.  A writer and poet, Grear compassionately speaks out about PTSD, the epidemic of suicides among our men and women in uniform, and the challenges our veterans face in re-assimilating to a world they’ve long been separated from.  Through art, Grear says, we can assuage some of the trauma felt by our veterans, and set upon the task of restoring their hearts and minds.

Honored at the Pentagon as a Wounded Hero, Grear is now giving back by spreading his art -- and in doing so, his message -- to combat veterans grappling with trauma and PTSD.  He addresses colleges, veteran groups and audiences-at-large in an effort to deepen understanding between civilians and soldiers, enabling healing through reflection.

We are witnessing our country become more divided based on police brutality, race and political views during another historic election. Our country was built on the ideals of freedom while built on slavery.We are in debate to side with Colin Kaepernick or not. What do you believe in @Kaepernick7

The understanding that so many of us across the globe experience the same suffering, pain, and anxiety, regardless of what flag we call ours, is the impetus for this movement.  PTSD is all too often overlooked,  misunderstood, or given no true voice.  There IS help.  There ARE multiple ways to cope and often to heal.  Join Denoh Grear as he transitions from combat into the ultimate Citizen-Soldier, the Hero needed to inspire America and uplift a lost generation- leaving no rock unturned in his journey to heal himself and help heal the world.  

With the estimates of people suffering from PTSD at an all time high, Sgt. Denoh founded Iraqi Chronicles to voice the movement toward wellness, not just for soldiers but for all in need of a well-lit path.  

The healing process is different for everyone, and rarely does one form of treatment rapidly and completely alleviates all PTSD symptoms.  For Denoh, complete participation in the Wounded Warrior program is just the beginning.  While serving in the Middle East and Denoh chronicles his journey in great detail.  

Writing poems, prose, and songs served as an anchor, a way to stay grounded and to record his experiences.  Stateside, Denoh took his body of work to the next level by recording songs, performing poetry-slams, and publishing his poetry.  He uses all forms of self-expression to work through PTSD, instead of letting trigger-experiences control him.  Still, his search for additional support led him onward, and he began investigating lesser known or perhaps less funded areas of research such as Transcendental Meditation [TM], and Emotional Freedom Technique [EFT].
