Darkroom Dubs maintain the energy and positivity from a surprisingly beautiful summer, as many of us have been lucky to move around and play again. So let's plunge headfirst into the new season with these two emotional stunners from Spanish ace Undo. 

Following his remix of Alejandro Paz & Local Suicide’s ‘Directions’ earlier this year comes Undo’s first full single for Silicone Soul’s label. Two beguiling pieces of work that capture the freshness and vitality of the dance floors right now.

‘Acid Summer’ is a palpitating, subtly acidic march into an exquisite sunrise. Shimmering, spacious, crisp and full of poignancy; it’s the type of tune that gives you all the time you need to take everything in, soak it up and feel every pore on your skin ripple with the sentiment and saviour the moment. 

‘Tempesta’ subverts temporal boundaries even more as we’re swathed in big dubby washes and broken beats before the bumping kicks usher in layer after layer of acid, pads and textures. A real journey of a tune that never sits still, reminiscent of Underworld’s best work like ‘Cups’ and ‘Jumbo’. Comparisons don’t come much higher than that but neither do the vibes. 

Expect plenty more from the Darkroom Dubs camp before we sign out of 2021. Let’s keep the energy and positivity flowing. These are times we’ll never forget.

Noir Recommends // Episode 6 - 2011

Nhar kicks starts 2015 with a follow up to his critically acclaimed 'Life's Ether' EP, released early this year on My Favorite Robot Records French DJ and producer Nhar has been a stalwart of the underground House and Techno scenes for the last decade, releasing music with respected imprints such as Mobilee, Correspondent and Boxer. The opening months of 2014 saw him team up for the first time with the ever excellent Canadian label My Favorite Robot Records for the superb 'Life's Ether', a record that garnered support from the likes of Steve Bug, Danny Howells, Estroe and Justin Robertson to names but a few. Now the highly respected producer is back with a standout follow up entitled 'In Spaces Between' based around 3 interconnected compositions. The package opens with 'Part 1' , a warm and hypnotic slice of electronic music that draws on warbling pads, haunting spoken word vocal and bubbling acid undertones, all underpinned with a perfect rhythm track. "Part 1' gives ways to 'Part 2', which sees a shift into Chicago inspired territory with it's old school stabs and taut drums. Spoken word vocals once again set the atmospheric scene before the bassline picks up a blissful melodic pattern and drives the track forward into spine tingling territory with it's ethereal pads and subtle acidic squelch, quality stuff. Finally we have 'Part 3': the tempo drops, the acid breaks free and the listener is taken on a journey down the rabbit hole with this delightful mid tempo and musical workout. This is another impressive release from Nhar and another fine addition to the ever expanding and critically acclaimed MFRR catalogue.

In Spaces Between Part II - My Favorite Robot 116

At this point, it's certainly not breaking news that Berlin label Exploited is a global powerhouse in electronic music: between releases from masked man of mystery Claptone, a steady stream of fresh new talent and excellent overall curation from label bass Shir Khan, everything the label touches seems to turn into dance music gold. The label continues to push ahead in 2016 with no signs of slowing down, presenting two huge collaborative tracks from Berlin-via-Helsinki producer Kiki.

You can spend all afternoon till late night with us, get lost and tanned on our open air dance floor with full Funktion one sound, hang on our chill terrace and have delicious craft beer, watch the crowd from the upstairs gallery, or treat yourself with some healthy food at one of our delicious food trucks.

Besides these great features, it’s all about the music; so the line up as always, and keeping up with the JEUDI vibe, is full of friends and family.
This year we've invited Valencia’s Edu Imbernon, Francesca Lombardo, Digitaria, as well as our hippy by heart: Stockholm’s Bambook.

Of course not to miss also performances by the label's creators, Doctor Dru, recently relocated to Barcelona, Take It Easy; one half of the Adana Twins, and from JEUDI's hometown, Hamburg; our man Davidé.

At times the fact that DJs play other peoples´ music tends to fade into the background somewhat. Time to pay them hommage!

In the course of more than 15 years we have encountered a bunch of impressive artists. It was and still is their music that has made our sets what they are. Some of them came to play at one or the other of our annual GRAND SPORTFEST events in Berlin.

Some musical connections have even evolved into long-standing friendships. So the idea of kinking up with these special colleagues to create a compilation came easy and a while ago. And much later, finally here it is We´re proud and grateful to be able to present the work of our friends and colleagues in this release!
