It's been a whole since we brought you original material by the Czech / Australian duo Shades Of Gray. So here we come with a mini-album Circulate. All three tracks are quite divergent - each in it's own way. The acid infused title track Circulate has been produced using solely Micro Korg XL and early New York house samples. Cross & Divide has been heavily influenced by the early 90ties EBM music and Treading Water takes you on emotional melodic trip. On the remix duties we have our good friends JML from Flow Vinyl and Felix Cage from Wood Club Brussels. Enjoy the trip!

Shades Of Gray – the duo of Czech national Michal ‘Schwa’ Ruzicka and Aussie Nick West – have been turning many heads recently with their debut album ‘Soul Machine’ and the consistent quality of their Beef Records imprint.  They certainly turned our heads here at Lost My Dog so we got them firmly onto our leash!  Their ‘All About The Drums EP’ contains four tracks of trademark deep and funky heads-down house including 3 collaborations, with Rodney O, Pavel ORM and Antsmif.

Shades Of Gray - The Drums Go Like This (Lost My Dog)

Chillin Music and Shades Of Gray aka Michal Schwa & Nick West dive in the deep end with a 4 track EP highlighting Moodmusic’s torchbearer Sasse and EDM‘s master A&R, Still Rob G on remix duties.

Shades Of Gray, with over 50 releases to date including their chart-topping “Moog the House”, make magic happen with both “The Deep Blue” and “That Night” on Chillin’s 36th release. Infectious keys, piano riffs and disco bubbles permeate the surface as they ride the deep, driving bassline of “The Deep Blue”. “That Night” captures the magic with intelligent samples, guitar stabs and a grooving bassline that penetrates the senses on the dancefloor.

After remixing Shades Of Gray on their critically acclaimed ‘Soul Machine’ album, Lexy (of Lexy & K-Paul) is back for another collaboration with the duo.  The track titles suggest that there’s some cheeky action going on here as deep house, nu disco and the occasional sample are thrown into the melting pot.  The 2 track EP, which will come out on vinyl as well as digital, is released on Lexy’s own label Moensterbox.

Shades Of Gray are the duo of Czech national Michal ‘Schwa’ Ruzicka and Aussie Nick West.  They have progressively established themselves over recent years producing consistently solid tracks and remixes for labels such as Neurotraxx Deluxe, Om Records, Salted Music, Dark Energy, Lost My Dog, Tronicsoul and their home label Beef Records.

Shades Of Gray was born following Schwa’s move to Australia in 2005.  He soon teamed up with local Nick West both in the studio and as a partner in Beef Records. They quickly gained a reputation as one of the hottest acts on the Sydney underground scene and it wasn't long until they were touring internationally performing from Tokyo to Moscow and Paris to Prague.  With support from the likes of Shur-I-Kan, Miss Kittin, Jimpster, Pezzner, Laurent Garnier and Miguel Migs, SOG have clocked up over 50 releases including the sales chart topping ‘Moog in the House’.

Lexy, aka Alexander Gerlach, has been releasing music since 2006 both on his own, under the alias Mickey Duchamp, and in collaborations Lexy & K-Paul and Moenster.  He has worked with labels including Kontor, MusicIsMusic, Stil Vor Talent and Toolroom.  His label Moensterbox has so far welcomed artists including David August, Soffy O, End Of Tape and Rene Onze amongst others.

Not content with producing a string of hugely acclaimed releases, performing their live set at Europe's best festivals and delivering bomb after bomb on their label Beef Records, Aussie-Czech duo Shades Of Gray have also found time to get inspired by the EL James book which is getting millions of housewives (and Victoria Beckham) hot under the collar.  

That could almost be the story right there, but DJ Schwa, the Czech half of Shades Of Gray has gone further, putting his own musical twist on things, delivering a 50 minute mix of sexually charged, erotic, sleazy and downright filthy house tunes.  And even better, it's completely free to download or stream.
