The beauty of your songs is overwhelming. Every time I lend it my ears I make a commitment to give it my full attention and then I'm swept away in a wave of emotion, leaving goosebumps cascading down my skin and tears welling in my eyes.  My gratitude extends to everyone involved for crafting such a touching piece of art. Driven by a desire to share this emotional journey with others, I took the liberty to interpret and translate the lyrics into English.  This was done for those like me who may not understand Tamil but are equally moved by the sheer emotive power of the melody.  Because it's clear that the lyrics carry a profound depth that aligns seamlessly with the enchanting music, creating a deeply touching experience.

I attempted to translate the lyrics, I'm very thankful for being able to study them.  In front of my gaze, there's none to see, Only your light dances brilliantly free. A longing kindles, heart's silent roar, In each echoed whisper, I hear your lore.  Clouds weep joy, in the rainy sway, In each melody's hum, for you, I fray.  In the labyrinth of an age unknown, In riddles wrapped in a twilight zone, You were there, our fates entwined, In your memories, I reel, confined, Stumbling, fumbling, again and yet again, In your absence, I find my zen.  As a poem, I discovered you, In the rhythm of music, I imbued. Unbroken in my heart's sacred space, You infused life, a tender grace.  In the murmuring tales of the rainy haze, Burns your memory, an eternal blaze. In the earth's aroma, the soulful air, With every breath, I sense you there. In life's pulse, in its ceaseless refrain, From your essence, I can never abstain.

Project YUJ has faithfully and authentically bridged the gap of the Western and Indian traditions through their brand of music, Neo-Carnatic Funk. YUJ's command of style allows the band members to effortlessly shift gears and steer the course into the unknown, flanked by novelty and technique to burn. From the slick modern arrangement of Deekshitar's classic kriti “Mahaganapathim”, to the upbeat montunos of “Maputo”, to the korvais of  “Reethigowla Blues”, all the way to the Flecktones - inspired, “Banjo Rumble”, the album consistently surprises and changes course, keeping the listener surprised, guessing and eager for more. If the maiden voyage holds this much promise, the future looks bright.

Shadow and Light is the contemporary-classical duo of Anindo Bose and Pavithra Chari. With the sole focus of creating original music, they have written and independently released 3 studio albums to critical acclaim. Their original song Dua features in the Berklee Indian Ensemble's Shuruaat, nominated for the Grammy - Best Global Album.

Their debut as composers in the web series Dharavi Bank on MX Player released in November 2022.

With varied musical influences, the duo fuse genres of Hindustani classical,
Contemporary, Jazz, Pop, Electronica and Soul to create cinematic soundscapes and compositions in Hindi, English and Tamil.
Since 2014, they have toured and performed across India, Sri Lanka and the United States of America. 

Notable collaborations include multi-instrumentalist Karsh Kale, playback singer Haricharan, The Berklee Indian Ensemble, Sarod players Amaan-Ayaan Ali Bangash, tabla maestro Talvin Singh, playback singer Benny Dayal, and guitar virtuoso Stanley Jordan. Their most recent collaboration with acclaimed musician and composer Salim Merchant was released in September 2022.
